Review of Optronics Trailer Lights BUL602CB

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics Light Guide LED Backup Light. This oval backup light is for trailers and utility trucks. It is certified for backup light function in a two-lamp system when a pair of lights are installed. Second light is sold separately. The light guide series features a nice smooth "x" shape across the face of the light. It does features a sonically sealed waterproof housing inaudible 00:00:24 that is submersible.

Features durable surface spot technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board that better withstands shock and vibration and allows for improved heat distribution. It is a full LED system. They make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.

The unit features a nice durable polycarbonate lens and housing. It's going to feature white LEDs with a nice clear lens so they're easily visible. When it comes to the installation, it's a recessed mount installation with a mounting grommet. Mounting grommet is sold separately. Here on the back, it will accept an industry standard two-prong plug, which is sold separately as well. On the back, you're going to notice that it actually has three ports so it will accept a three-prong plug.

But it only requires two functions. So it only requires a ground wire and then a power wire for the reverse light. What Optronics does is this is a standard footprint of their plug. So they put it on most of their lights even though this only calls for a two-prong plug. When using a two-prong plug, it'll still cover up the third connection point that's not being used, protecting it from dirt, grime, and moisture. The unit is department transportation compliant.

It meets FMVSS10 requirements in any 360 degree position.A few measurements to go over with you real quick and then we'll hook it up to power that we can see what it looks like. Measuring this direction, we're looking at about six and a half inches. This direction, we're looking a measurement of about, just the face, is about two and one eighth to two and three sixteenths of an inch. If you measure outer edge of housing to the same point on the side, it's about two and three eighths of an inch. The depth, just measuring this portion here, see that's right about one inch. Contains a total of 12 LEDs or 12 diodes and it's covered with a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.We're going to hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. So you can see with that two-prong plug connected, it still covered up the third port. So whenever we go into the reverse gear, that white light will show up. I'm going to go ahead and turn off the overhead lights so you can get a better look at it. It's a really nice bright design and that gives you a really good view of the smooth "x" shape that goes across the face of the light. The multi-dial design really helps optimize the overall light output of the unit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics Light Guide LED Backup Light.
