Optronics Trailer Lights - Clearance Lights - MCL75RB Review

Jeff Hello everybody. This is Jeff at Today, we're gonna take a look at the Optronics Thinline submersible LED trailer clearance or side marker light. Now, this is an LED trailer light that'll function as either a clearance light or a side marker light whenever it's properly mounted. It does have a P2 rating. It is a Thinline series, so it's a nice, low profile, so that the light can fit in tight spaces.

It is sonically sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit, and it makes it submersible. Now, the LEDs are nice cause they'll make great replacements for incandescent lights. They'll last about 50 times longer. They're more efficient cause they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And, of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments that are gonna break.

And, of course, it has a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. This is a nice, durable polycarbonate housing and lens. This is a red lens over four white LEDs. Now, at the end of this video, I'm gonna hook it up to some power just to show you how bright it is. And this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.

The power draw at 12.8 volts is .06 amps. Now to mount this, it does have multiple mounting options. Those we do sell separate on our website. You can surface mount it with a self-grounding mounting bracket. They come in either a black color, which is part number A65PB, or a chrome color, which is A67CB.

And again, they're listed this product page as related products. Or you can even surface mount it with an open back bracket, which we sell separately, it's part number A65B. And then you use either an industry standard one-prong plug or the two-prong plug. The one-prong plug would be part number A65P, and the two-prong plug would be A68P. And again, all these parts I'm mentioning are listed on this product page as a related product. Last thing I wanna do, get the dimensions, and then we'll hook it up to some power. So, if we do the length, from one end to the other is 3 15/16 of an inch, so just under four inches. The overall height on this, it's gonna be right at 1 1/4 inches tall. And your total depth on it is only about 7/8 of an inch deep. So again, you have two prongs on the back, one's power, one's ground. And can be either one, it doesn't matter which one's which. Once we have that hooked up, I'll go ahead and turn on the power. And you can see with it hooked up, there's your four LEDs. We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And you can see with the lights off, how bright this red light is. And again, depending how you mount it, can be used as either clearance light or a side marker light. Go ahead and turn back on the overhead lights. Go ahead and turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Optronics Thinline submersible LED trailer clearance or side marker light..
