Optronics Trailer Lights - Submersible 3 Function Red LED Trailer Tail Light - OPT54WR Review

Hi everybody. My name is Andy with etrailer.com. And today, we're taking a look at this GloLight submersible, three function, red lens, LED trailer tail light. Now, this oval, three function, waterproof light is gonna act as your brake light, your tail light, and your turn light. And this GloLight lens creates a solid panel of light. As you can see, this is a surface mount light, and it has a built-in flange.

And let me go ahead and show you what this looks like lit up. I have this connected to 12 volt power. And so, right now you can see that this has this outer band of LEDs and that's gonna function as your tail light. And then when you activate your brake light, the center red LEDs are going to activate. So, that's gonna be your brake light there in the middle, and that's also going to be your turn signal as well.

So, it's a really nice look to this light. I've kept my studio lights on. Let me go ahead and turn them off, and then you can see just how bright that is. So again, this outer band is going to be your tail light when it's turned on. And then the center red LEDs there are going to act as your brake light and your turn signal.

And you can see just how bright that is. And then let me turn my lights on, and we'll go to a wide view here. And I'll show you just how bright this is from that range as well with the studio lights on. So, it's a nice, bright light, and a very unique look to the way that this lights up. So, let me turn the power off and disconnect my power here, so we can talk a little bit more about this and take a little bit of a closer look.

Now, these LEDs are going to make a great replacement for the incandescent lights. They last up to 50 times longer. They're gonna be more efficient. They provide a brighter light with less power output. You're gonna have no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments. And this is a red acrylic lens over white LEDs. Now, this polycarbonate, sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit is going to be submersible. And the surface mount technology used to construct these lights protects the LEDs from shock and vibration better than the through-hole technology because the diodes are soldered directly to the surface of a printed circuit board instead of attached with wires that run through holes in the board. So, the result's gonna be a circuit board that's smaller yet provides more routing area, and that offers superior performance, reliability, and durability. This also allows for improved heat distribution and thinner construction. Now, this is, this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. Again, this has that surface mount with the built-in flange. It is important to note that the installation hardware is not included. And this has the molded-in connector that accepts industry standard three-prong plug. The white wire on this light is going to be ground. The black wire is gonna be your tail light. And then the red wire is gonna be your stop and turn. Now, this is DOT compliant, and this meets FMVSS 108 and CMDSS requirements for automotive lighting. Let me go ahead and give you some measurements here. Let me start by giving you overall measurements. The overall width of this light, let me move that cable there just so you can see a little more clearly. The overall width, we're gonna be sitting right at 7 1/2 inches overall width. And the height, we're gonna be sitting right at 3 1/4 inches tall. This is about an inch deep as you can see there. Now, the light face dimensions, just looking at this, at this lens here, we're gonna be sitting right at about 6 3/8 inches wide by about 2 1/8 inches tall. And this is going to be about 3/4 of an inch deep. Now, the distance between the mounting holes from center to center of those mounting holes, let me get those lined up here. Gonna to be sitting right at seven inches on those mounting holes. Seven inches on those mounting holes. And then looking at the top and the bottom mounting holes again, let me get this lined up here for you a little bit better. We're gonna be sitting in right at 2 3/4 in between the top and the bottom. There we go, 2 3/4. Now, there are 22 diodes in this light. Has a power draw of 12.8 volts. The tail light is .59 amps. The stop turn light, .569 amps. And this does have a lifetime warranty on the LEDs, and you will get one of these combination tail lights. Well, that's going to conclude our look today at this GloLight submersible, three function, red lens, LED trailer tail light. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
