Review of Pollak Accessories and Parts PK54530

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number PK54530. This is the Pollak 30-amp circuit breaker. This breaker is going to help prevent your battery from draining and the auxiliary application from overdrawing. Typically used in brake controllers for four to eight brakes but it has a variety of applications it can be used for. Now this is going to feature a metal housing with a straight mounting bracket. If we take a measurement the distance that we have between those mounting holes center on center, that's going to give us a measurement of 1-9/16".

Those mounting holes are going to have a diameter of 3/16". This is a two-piece design. You can see here that it's got three little points right there. Those are going to be spot welds. It's attached by spot welding. It's going to feature cycling automatic reset.

It's going to cycle continuously during overcurrent conditions and it's going to return to run mode when the source of current is removed. It's going to feature two 10-32 studs. These are going to measure center on center apart from one another 11/16". The copper colored one is going to be a copper colored plating on the battery terminal. The zinc plating, which is going to be a silver color, is going to be on the auxiliary terminal.

This is SAE standard J553 compliant. Some common applications are going to be accessory circuits, cooling fans, door locks, head lamps, tail lamps, window lifts, sunroofs, trailer packages, and electric brake controllers. The terminal dimensions are going to be .66" long, which is going to be about 11/16". Current rating is at 30 DC amp. Voltage rating is at 12 VDC, which is voltage direct current. When it comes to the operating temperature this is going to be between -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and storage temperature is going to be between -20 Fahrenheit to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
