Review of Redline Enclosed Trailer Parts 9106-2756

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 9106-2756. This is the Redline 2-Way Pop-Up Roof Vent and you're also going to get the interior garnish piece for enclosed trailers. The vent itself is made from a rugged, heavy-duty steel construction so it's built to last. It's a two-way pop-up lid so it's going to give you the choice of opening the vent toward either the front or back of your trailer. It'll simply adjust in steps from fully closed to fully open, giving you complete control over the amount of airflow. On the inside, we're going to have a convenient lever. That's going to be this silver piece that runs pretty much the full length of the opening.

Very easy to find, very easy to operate. That's how you're going to control the opening of the vent. This right here is fully closed. There's step one, step two, then step three is fully open. We can control that going in the other direction as well, in the same steps.

Step one, step two, then step three is fully open. It's really nice, very easy to use. You can see in here we're going to have a built-in heavy duty steel screen that's going to keep out bugs, leaves, and any other outdoor things that you don't want getting in your trailer. We're going to have a nice black paint finish. Very durable as well as attractive, it gives the vent a nice look. And then you're going to get this foam gasket. This is included.

That's going to mount on the outside of the trailer, on the roof, directly underneath the vent. That's going to help create a nice, tight seal to prevent leaks. This right here is going to be our black plastic interior garnish. This is going to provide a nice, good-looking touch to the inside of the trailer. This is the flange that goes up in the ceiling and that can be trimmed to fit thinner roofs. Now when we take a look at the rough opening size that we're going to need, we're simply going to measure this piece right here, starting with the length from this point here to this point here. That's going to give us an exact measurement of about 11-3/16 of an inch, so rough opening size is going to be around that mark.

The width, measuring from this point here to this point here, that's going to give us a measurement of about 5-1/2 inches wide. Now if we take a look at the overall dimensions, we're simply going to measure the vent first, outer edge to outer edge. That's going to give us a measurement of about 13-1/2 inches long. If you measure the width from outer edge to outer edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 8 inches wide. Now when this is fully installed, the vent is going to extend above your trailer's roof, when it's fully closed, about 2-1/2 inches. When it's fully open, that's going to increase the extension above the roof to about 5 inches. The inside bar or the handle right here, if we take a measurement of that length, measuring from end to end, that's going to give us a measurement of about 10-1/4 inch. That's going to hang down from the bottom portion of the flange to the very bottom of the handle of about 1 inch. It's very easy to grab, very easy to operate. Take a measurement of the interior garnish piece real quick. It's got a really nice design to it so again it's going to add a nice look to the interior of your trailer. This is going to measure about 14-1/8 inches long by about 8-1/2 inches wide. The flange length that we have, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2 inches. You can see here it's got a really nice look to it. We're going to have the rounded corners on it so it provides a nice, sleek look. Now again, this is going to go up in the opening from inside the trailer. This would sit on the roof of the trailer and then this would go over that interior piece and mount to the roof of the trailer. You're going to need 12 screws to get this installed. Those are required to install the vent. 12 screws go in all the way around so we've got 12 mount holes. Those are going to give us a diameter of 3/16 of an inch. The screws or the mounting hardware is going to be sold separately. That's going to fit number 8 screws. Also keep in mind that the garnish does not have any pre-drilled mounting holes so 12 screws just to get the vent attached the roof. The mounting gaskets going to have those holes that line up perfectly with the mount holes in the vent. You may need just a couple screws to get the interior piece installed as well. That's going to do it for our look at Part number 916 . excuse me, 9106-2756. This is the Redline 2-Way Pop-Up Roof Vent.
