Review of Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit RP30868

Today we're going to take a look at the Reese under-bed rail and installation kit for the Reese Elite Series Fifth Wheel trailer hitches, and it has a 25,000 lbs weight capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed specifically for the Chevrolet Silver Auto, and GMC CCR 2500 and 3500 heavy duty trucks starting in 2011. On any custom fit part I always like to recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year, model, vehicle and it will show you if this will work for your application. This installation kit is designed for use with the Reese Elite series and Signature Series, Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck trailer hitches. These rails will be under the truck bed, they provide complete access to your truck bed when the hitch is removed from it. There's no exposed rails, and just the only thing you'll see in the truck bed are these four small mounting holes, which are called the Power Puck System.

These will sit flush with the truck bed, and it allows quick, simple mounting and removal of the hitch. To install the hitch, you just pop open these caps, one on each, just like that, and it will open the slots up. Then your Elite Series Reese hitch or Signature Series Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck hitch will have tabs on it that will drop in there and turn and lock it into place and you'll be able to tow with it. When you're done towing, if you remove the hitch, just put these caps back in the holes to keep any dirt or grime from getting in there, and you have a flat truck bed ready to used. The wide platform of this ensures absolute hitch stability, and again, it's a vehicle specific design so it will reduced installation time, requires less drilling than any universal system. These brackets right here that I bolted on, these will mount on the outside of the vehicle frame rails.

These cross members will attach to those brackets and sit along the top of the vehicle frame rails beneath the bed. This is a black powder coat steel, which will help resist corrosion. The rails and the installation hardware I have all up front here, and the instructions are all included. A few specs on this, the application again is for Reese Elite Series and Signature Series Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck trailer hitches, and the capacity on this is 25,000 lbs. That will do it for a look at the Reese under-bed rail and installation kit for the Reese Elite Series Fifth Wheel trailer hitches, and a 25,000 lbs weight capacity.
