Review of Reese Specialty Trailer Hitches RP7065100

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Towpower 3-way ATV Hitch with Ball Mount Adapter. The Heavy Duty two piece hitch is going to give you multiple towing options for your ATV. Take a look right here, it's going to feature a 3/4 inch diameter hole. That's going to let you attach a hitch ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank. Hitch balls are sold separately, so if you need one you can find them right here at etrailer.com. This hole right here is going to measure 5/8ths of an inch diameter. That's going to let you hook up to a clevis hitch. Then you're going to have the sturdy D-ring.

That's going to allow for multiple off-roading and recover uses. The drawbar can be removed. This drawbar adapter and the hitch spin and clip are going to be included as well as the hardware to get this secured to the tongue on your ATV. Now, the drawbar can be used in this position here or it can be flipped over and used in that position as well. Whatever one works best for your application. It's nice that it removes because that actually allows you to use the receiver tube for other accessories if you wish to.

It kind of acts as a ball mount like you'd see on a vehicle: something you can remove easily from the hitch. When it comes the construction on these units, we're looking at steel construction: very strong and durable. It's going to have a corrosion resistant black powder coat finish. Very simple installation on to your ATV. It just bolts on to the ATV tongue. You got this hole right here.

Hardware is going to be what secures this piece to the tongue on your ATV. Now this does require that your ATV has a 5/8th inch diameter tongue hole. So you get this installed the way it's supposed to. The unit's going to feature a weight capacity of 2,000 pounds. It's going to feature a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. The receiver opening is going to measure 2 inches by 2 inches. Now, with it assembled together, we're going to go over a few more measurements.

The diameter of our pin is going to measure 5/8ths of an inch and, again, that clip is included. Taking a look at the overall length with the 2 pieces put together, measuring from edge to edge, we're taking a look at about 12 inches. The distance from the center of the boat hole, back here, to the center of the hole where the hitch ball would mount, right here, it's going to be about 8 and 3/8ths of an inch. Then going to the clevis hole, looking at about 10 and 1/2 inches. The d-ring on the unit, that's going to give us a 1/2 inch diameter. That steel construction; it's welded on both sides. The opening size that we have for that d-ring, inside edge to inside edge . we're looking at about 2 and 1/2 inches. Then, when I took a measurement of the height, measuring from the top of the tube right here to the bottom of the ring, that gave us a measurement of about 1 and 1/8th of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the Reese Towpower 3-Way ATV Hitch with the Ball Mount Adapter.
