Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter - RO64FR Review

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Roadmaster adapter kit for Blue Ox motor home-mounted tow bars. Essentially, this is going to allow you to use your Blue Ox tow bar that you already have with a Roadmaster baseplate. Both Roadmaster and Blue Ox have a proprietary system for how they connect the baseplate to the tow bar. Got a diagram, a little picture show for you here. You can see the Blue Ox has kind of like an E shape, the three-prong system.

That's on the tow bar. Your baseplate has two prongs, so they fit together like that, whereas your Roadmaster here has more of a C style. That's on the baseplate. Tow bar would have more of a bracket like you have here. That would line up that way.

They don't really coordinate very well together. You can't take the Blue Ox and go straight to the Roadmaster. That's what this kit is for.You can see on the Blue Ox that little screw there. You're going to pull that screw out, undo that nut, and then you can remove that whole E clamp there. Then you can install this one that comes from Roadmaster.

That's going to then allow you to use that tow bar with your Roadmaster baseplate. These parts are made here in the USA, so you can trust they're going to be a good solid quality. They are made directly by Roadmaster, so you don't have to worry about compatibility with your baseplate. They're not going to be slightly off or anything. They are exactly what Roadmaster makes for their base plates, so you're good there. All the components that you need, the pin and clip, everything is included.

They're also going to have some washers there to make sure that your connections are able to move, pivot. Everything's working there. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty from Roadmaster. They stand behind their product. You can trust it's going to do a good job for you.Ultimately, it's kind of a rare scenario to have two different brands, but if you find yourself in that place, maybe you got a different vehicle, it's got the Roadmaster baseplate on it already, you already have your Blue Ox tow bar, rather than having to buy either a whole new tow bar or do a whole new baseplate setup which is pretty intensive, you don't really want to do that, this is a very simple option. Just take off the original brackets from your tow bar, mount these on, and you're ready to go. It's really a great way to solve that problem. That's going to complete our look at the Roadmaster adapter kit for Blue Ox mounted tow bars.
