Review of Roadmaster Trailer Cargo Control RM-2150

Today we're going to be talking a look at part number RM-2150. This is the RoadMaster adjustable wheel net. It's designed to fit 12-inch to 16-inch wheels, and you're going to get one wheel net with this part number. The wheel net's going to secure the vehicle to the tow dolly. Ideally, you'd want to use one strap per side, so one strap on both driver and passenger side of your vehicle. Again, with this part number you're going to get one strap. The product's made in the USA.

Again, it's designed to fit 12-inch to 16-inch wheels, so just keep in mind that our tire is different from our wheel. This is designed to fit any wheel that's going to be mounted on a 12-inch to 16-inch, or excuse me, it's designed to fit any tire that's mounted onto a 12-inch to 16-inch wheel. Today, for our application, our wheel's going to measure 13 inches, so you can see how it fits on a 13-inch wheel. It fits really nice. It is adjustable so we can fit those wide ranges of tires, and it gives us the adjustment we need.

Plenty of strap. I just went ahead and secured the excess that I have. Just to go around the different components real quick. You're going to get a couple different pieces with this part number. You're going to get this strap right here. This strap is designed to run into the ratchet that's going to be mounted on your tow dolly.

If you don't have that ratchet, or if you need a replacement ratchet, you can use this one right here. This is going to be part number RM-2110. It's sold separately, and it would mount to your tow dolly with this mounting hole right here using a bolt and nut. You just need to get the appropriate hardware that's not included. This part number is going to be sold separately.

Nice design, chromate finish, so it's going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. You're going to get this strap right here, then you're going to get your long strap. Now our long strap is going to have the buckle attached to one end; it's going to have the plain end on the other. That's designed to loop around our tire. We have that. It goes through the loops on all the additional straps, so you're going to have the long strap, ratchet strap, center strap, and then you're going to have your anchor strap on this side. Now it's got the nice hook. Again, steel construction, chromate finish, that's going to protect it from rust and corrosion. That hook's going to give us a width of 2 and 5/8ths of an inch. The strap's going to give us a width of 2 inches, and again the long strap just runs through all the buckles, around your wheel, and then the strap goes into itself, then you just tighten it using the cinch buckle right here. Really nice design, very easy to use, and then this strap right here would run through your ratchet mechanism. Once you have it over your wheel, and you have that side anchored down, simply just tighten up that ratchet. It's going to secure the strap over the wheel, which is going to secure your vehicle or whatever it is that you're towing onto your tow dolly. That's going to do it for our review of part number RM-2150. This is the RoadMaster adjustable wheel net. .

It is very noticeable that the strap with the plate hook will not reach the tow dolly hook point. To me that strap should be longer in length or do you suggest we loosen the other strap till it does?????

While it is true that in the real-world application you will need to adjust the tie-down strap # RM-2150 so that it fits a little different than in this video, it is important to note that this is a review video that is designed to give a very basic rundown of how this strap is utilized (so yes, you will need to adjust it some for it to fit properly). For a more in-depth look into how you would move the strap around to fit on the tow dolly I recommend checking out one of the Roadmaster Tow Dolly review videos to see the vehicle installed on the tow dolly.
