Rola Ratchet Straps - Standard Strap - 59305 Review

Today we're taking a look at the Rola Ratchet tie down straps. Now, these tie down straps let you secure cargo on your cargo tray, on your roof rack, trailer or even in your truck bed. These are ideal, again, for securing your cargo. They can also be used to secure an ATV, motorcycle, or personal watercraft. They do feature the contoured red handles. These are going to let you ratchet the straps tight over or around your gear. We're looking at a nice, durable aluminum construction. It's very lightweight and strong. We also have the curved release buttons that easily disengage the ratchets when you're ready to unload. And then on each end, we have the vinyl coated steel S-hooks, so that way they won't scratch or damage your cargo or your gear.

And then, the strapping is a durable, polyester webbing to resist tears and abrasions. Now, the straps measure one inch wide by ten feet long. Each one features a safe working load limit of 600 pounds, with a maximum load or break strength of 1,800 pounds.I'm gonna go ahead and show you how they work. They're really easy. We already have them assembled. To assemble it, all you have to do is feed this end of the strap through the center gap, and then pull it out.

And then, to open the ratchet mechanism, this ratchet mechanism has three positions. So you have your fully closed position. This is the position you'd want it in after you're done securing your cargo. Press the release lever, and then you can move it to the ratcheting position. That's the middle position.

Really nice, easy design to do that. And then, you can open it up to the fully open position, and this would be your release position. So when it's in this position, you can pull on the hook and that's going to allow the strap to loosen up, and that way you can unload your cargo. So, it's really nice. It's really easy to use. It's got a very comfortable grip design to it.

Very easy to operate and control. Nice ratcheting motion, as well. I don't feel any kinking or binding on this mechanism. Now please note, tie down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, so the weight of your secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Rola Ratchet tie down straps.
