SmartStraps Recovery and Tow Straps - Recovery Strap - 348171 Review

Today we'll be taking a look at the SmartStraps Recovery Strap with Hooks. This makes it easy to hook up to any vehicle that you're trying to get towed out of a ditch, whether that's an ATV or a smaller truck or anything like that. We'll be able to easily hook onto it with one of our hooks and then pull it out to our recovery vehicle and get that attached. The housing right here, it needs to kind of stay in the middle because as you pull on one end it'll push that length out. So this will sit right in the middle. But then whenever you're done everything just retracts into that housing so we don't have to worry about wrapping up our straps and taking up a bunch of extra time with that. Each strap is kind of light yellow color, sort of highlighter yellow.

So that makes it very easy to spot. We'll have some reinforced stitching on each end to make sure that we have good strength of that hook. Hooks are made of . are of a durable steel construction. The strap measures 2" wide by 14' long, excuse me.

So it should have enough length to get hooked up and then pull out our vehicle as we need to. Of course, you'll put one end onto your stuck vehicle. The other end you can put onto a tow hook or a shackle on your tow vehicle. You just want to make sure that you attach this to a good, sturdy anchor point, something that's not going to rip or tear as you pull.I think this makes it a lot easier to keep track of your straps. You don't worry about having a bunch of loose strap or having to sit there and bundle it all up.

It just makes it simple to keep everything nice and neat. The maximum load with this, or the break strength, is 9,000 lbs, and the safe working load limit is 3,000 lbs. of course, you want to make sure that your stuck vehicle is not heavier than the weight rating of our strap. You don't want to exceed that and then cause the strap to break and then have to repeat all your work again or cause any injury to anybody in the area. The housing is about 6 1/2" wide from one side to the other, and it's about 5 1/2" tall, and about 4" thick.

That's going to do it for our look at the SmartStraps Recovery Strap with Hooks.
