SuperSprings Intl Vehicle Suspension - Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement - SSR-180-54-1 Review

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Sumo Springs Maxim Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2006 and newer Ford F-53 chassis motor homes in the 20,000 to 22,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating. Now on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year model vehicle.

That'll show if this will work for your application. Now these are helper springs that'll upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension for improved driver control and comfort. These will support heavy rear loads to keep your vehicle level. They'll help to absorb bumps and shocks and even help minimize way. What's nice is these springs are a progressive load control spring, which will compress according to the weight of the cargo.

So if you have a lighter load on it the springs compress easily at first for a nice, soft engagement, less bumpy ride. And if it has a heavier load on it the springs will compress by as much as 80% for support. Now these springs do work independently from each other to compensate turning off center loads and reduce body roll during sharp turns. And the springs are connected to your vehicle to top and the bottom to provide support even when your vehicles unloaded. These do expand up to 50% of their height.

Now they are made of a durable high density microcellular urethane. They are designed to work in temperatures for the negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. And this material will resist damage that can be caused by oils, road salts, and UV rays. It does give you minimal lateral expansion. The springs will expand and compress vertically instead of to the sides.

So they aren't easily damaged when operating in tight spaces. They are maintenance free. There's no tubing to run or air pressure monitor like with air springs. And they are a custom installation. Some drilling is required. And it does include everything shown here on the table. Includes the two springs, the mounting brackets you need, all the necessary hardware, and a nice set of detailed instructions on how it all goes together. These parts are made in the USA. A few specs again. The weight capacity at 50% compression is 7,000 pounds. And one note, these Sumo Springs will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. But that should do it for the review on the Sumo Springs Maxim Custom Helper Springs for your rear axle..
