Swagman Truck Bed Bike Racks - Impakt Fork Mount Bike Rack - S62FR Review

Hi, everybody, Andy here with the etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at this Swagman Impakt Fork Mount Bike Rack. Now, this Fork Mount Bike Rack is going to provide a simple secure option for carrying one bike, and this Fork Mount block will bolt onto almost any flat surface and provide a mounting point for one bike with a nine millimeter by 100 millimeter quick release skewer, and it also includes the adapters that you see here for a 12 millimeter by 100 millimeter through axle fork, or a 15 millimeter by 110 millimeter through axle fork. It can also accept 20 millimeter by 110 millimeter through axle forks, with an additional adapter tube. You can find that on our website using item number S64715. Now to swap out the adapter to two tubes rather, you would need a one by three millimeter tool, to loosen this screw, and then once you loosen this screw, that will loosen this adapter tube and you can remove that adapter tube and use the one that would be the best fit for your application.

This can also be used to carry an additional bike on your swaggling patrol truck bed, bike carrier. You can find that on our website, it's sold separately, using item number S64701. This will accommodate bikes with standard brakes or disc brakes, and to install on this nine millimeter skewer, you would just remove the front wheel of your bike and then drop the fork of your bike onto the skewer, and then you would just tighten it up until you would have a snug fit, and then when you bring this quick release handle to a close, you just want to make sure that it has a nice snug fit on that fork, you do not want to over-tighten it because you could damage the fork of your bike. Now for a through axle Mount, you would remove this nine millimeter skewer and then you would install the appropriate adapter tube and mount, after you have the appropriate tube installed, you would then mount the fork of that bike using the axle with that bike, or the axle that comes with that bike, and then you would just tighten it to this mount. Now this is constructed from a lightweight, durable aluminum, it is rust-proof, and again it's going to easily install to almost any flat surface with the included hardware.

This does include anti-theft bolts that can only be tightened and loosened with this tool, and then it also includes the plates that you can use with the Swagman patrol and other channel mounted applications, and as you can see here the instructions are included. Just some quick measurements here, let me give you the overall length of the base. The overall length we are sitting right at four and three quarters inches long, and at the widest point, we are sitting right at about an inch and three eighths wide, and then the overall height we're sitting right at. Looks like we're sitting right at about two and a half inches tall overall. Now the distance between the mounting holes, we're gonna be sitting as I line that up, I'm gonna be sitting right at four inches, from center to center.

And again the skewer diameter is nine millimeters, and this does have a weight capacity of 45 pounds, and it does also have a limited lifetime warranty. Now, if you are interested in a riser kit for this bike rack, we do have that option available here at etrailer.com, you can find that kit on our website using item number S42FR. That's gonna conclude our look today at this bike rack. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
