Review of Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118712

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This product fits certain years of the Chrysler Pacifica. It's going to provide a 4-way flat connector at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters. The adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector.

That way you can plug up the connection points when your connector's not being used. That's going to have plenty of wiring for your 4-way flat. That's all going to be connected to this module light. This is the included module light power module. This is designed to connect directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring, which is going to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. The unit's going to connect quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection points behind your taillights and plug in your connector's.

The connector with the green wire is going to go to the passenger side of the vehicle. The other connector's going to go to the driver's side of the vehicle. These plugs are going to match up perfectly with the plugs on the other side of the vehicle. They're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have those connected, you'll need to mount your converter box. You can do that with the included double-sided adhesive tape.

You just want to get that mounted in a nice, clean, out-of-the-way location. You'll also need to make a ground connection. That's going to be your white wire. It has a ring terminal already attached to it. You want to get that grounded in a nice, clean metal surface.

You can do that with the included ground-in screw. Then, you'll need to run the hot-lead to the vehicle battery. Hot lead's going to be the short black wire coming out of that box. This is going to get connected to the bundle of black wire with one of the included butt connectors. The other black wire runs to the other end of the vehicle battery, gets another butt connector attached to it. That gets connected to the fuse holder. You'd cut the fuse wire right here, just in the middle or whatever works best for your application, and then connect the black wire to the end of the fuse holder with one of the butt connectors. The other end of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it and that gets attached to the positive post in the vehicle battery. The 15-amp fuse goes directly in the fuse holder right here. That's got the cap to keep that safe and secure, as well as protected. Once you have that done, you can secure any excess wire that you may have, or slack in the wiring with the included zip ties. It's also going to come with a large zip tie right here, so you can use the double-sided adhesive tape to get the box mounted, or you can also mount it with the larger zip tie. You can choose whatever option works best for your application, or you can choose both options if you want to. It's totally up to you. Secure all your wires with the zip ties. That's going to keep the wiring safe up and out of the way. Once your installation's complete, the 4-way connector's going to be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch. You can loop it around the safety chain loop, or you can purchase a mounting bracket. Mounting brackets are sold separately, but we do recommend a mounting bracket to keep the connector secure. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of diliger 00:02:43 grease on all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. That grease is going to help prevent corrosion. We carry that here, as well. If you need some, you can pick some up. It is sold separately. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 4.2-amps per circuit. For the taillights, we're looking at 7.5-amps per circuit. The kit's going to also come with a detailed installation guide that's going to walk you through the installation process step-by-step. That's going to do it today's look at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.
