Review of Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118750

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Four Pull Flat Trailer Connector. This product fits certain years of the Chevrolet Equinox. To ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide at etrailer.com. It provides a four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with five pull, six pull, and seven pull adapters.Adapters are sold separately, and it comes with a dust cap for the connector. That way you can cover up the connection points when your plug is not being used.

That dust cap is tethered to the plug housing, so you don't have to worry about misplacing it or losing it. The black box is the included module light. This ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailers. The power module connects directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Now it's a quick and easy installation. You'll need to locate the connection points behind your tail lights and plug in your connectors.

One goes to the driver side, the other one goes to the passenger side. These plugs are custom fit for your vehicle, so they're going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle, and they're going to snap-lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit.Once you have those connected, you'll need to make a ground connection. That's your white wire with a ring terminal attached to it. You want to get that grounded, suitable grounding location with the included grounding screw. Then you'll need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery.

The hot lead is the short, black wire coming out of the box. This gets connected to one end of the bundle with one of the included buck connectors, the other end of the bundle runs through the vehicle battery.Gets another buck connector attached to it and connects to one half of the fuse holder. The other half of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it and gets connected to the positive host of the vehicle battery. It does come with your 15 amp fuse, goes directly in the fuse holder, and it's got the cap that goes over to help keep it safe and protected.Once you have that done, you can secure any excess or slack in your wiring with the included cable ties. Then once your installation is complete, the four way connectors are going to be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch.

We do recommend using a mounting bracket to keep the connectors secured and easily accessible. Mounting brackets are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of di-electric grease in all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pull connector itself. That grease is specifically designed to help prevent corrosion to the connection points. It's sold separately and available at etrailer.com as well. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 4.2 amps per-circuit, and for the tail lights we're looking at 7.5 amps per-circuit.That's going to do it for today's look at the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Four Pull Flat Trailer Connector.

In general that video is absolutely useless. There must be the PDF Step-by-Step INSTRUCTION guide in color and detailed installation instruction video.
