Review of Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118775

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2006 to 2007 Nissan Muranos and on a custom fit part I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle. It will show you if this will work for your application. Now, this harness will provide this four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights and it is compatible with five pull, six pull, and seven pull adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This does connect very quickly and easily. Basically you just locate your connection points, which are in the rear cargo area, plug in these two key T-connectors here, one on each side, one on the driver's side and one on the passenger side. Have this white ground wire that you just connect to a good clean ground, and then you'll have this black power wire that you'll run to your vehicle's battery. Now, this harness does include this Modulite, and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer.

It is a power module so it does connect directly to your battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. If you notice the four way, it has a length of wire that runs out the back. That's a 16-gauge bonded wire that it's all connected to and it does come, where you can see, with this integrated dust cap, so when you're not plugged into a trailer you can just put that on the terminals and it protects them from any damage or from the elements.A few specs on this harness. The maximum amperage is on the stop and turn light circuits. It's five amps per circuit. On the tail lights, it's 7.5 amps per circuit. Now, this kit does come with everything shown here on the table.

I'm going to briefly go through and show you where all these pieces go. It does have a nice set of detailed instructions that will describe how to install it and even have pictures of where your connections are, but basically what you'll do, again, is gain access to your rear cargo area, and you'll find your connection points behind the tail lights.Basically what you want to do is start on the driver's side and take the T connector with the yellow wire and you'll plug this in behind the tail lights to your wiring harness, and then you'll take the other T connector with the length of green wire. That's for the passenger side. Run this over to the passenger side and do the same. Plug this into the harness. What you want to do is this module box, you do want to attach this to a flat surface so it doesn't bounce around.

It does have a bracket with a hole in it. You could use a screw if you want to attach it down. They do even include some double faced tape you can put on there to use to attach it down, and they do even give you some extra zip ties if you need to attach it with that.Once that's all attached down you'll have two remaining wires you need to connect. The white wire with the eyelet on it, that goes to a good clean ground if there's one nearby. If not, they do offer a grounding screw here that you can drill and make your own ground. And then your remaining wire is your power wire.

This wire here needs to run up to your vehicle's battery, so they do give you this extra length of wire to run that up to the front of the vehicle, and when you do that you'll take your . they include the butt connectors. You'll put a butt connector on the power wire, connect it to one end of this length of wire, run this all the way up to the front, and when you get to the front, you don't want to connect this wire directly to the battery. You want to run it through an inline fuse holder. So take your other butt connector, connect that to one end or one side of the fuse holder, just like that, and your other side of the fuse holder you'll take your eyelet connector, connect that, and this is what will connect to the battery. Once that's all connected, pop open your fuse holder, inaudible 00:03:13 your included 15-amp fuse, push it into place, put your cap back on, and your system will be all ready to go.Now, they do include some extra zip ties to take up any slack in this wiring when you run it to the front. But that should do it for the review on the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four way flat trailer connector.
