Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Chrysler Pacifica Trailer Wiring - TK96FR Review

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Tocontra T1 vehicle wiring harness. This is gonna provide a four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle, to power up your trailer's signal lights so that other motorists can see if you're turning or stopping or while you're pulling a trailer. This is designed specifically to work with your 2021 and newer Chrysler Pacifica. So this is going to fit right in.

You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. It is designed specifically for your Pacifica. Now this will be compatible with your five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters, which are sold separately. And so if you are needing one of those other kinds of connections, this will work with those as well. This is gonna be very easy to get installed.

Basically, you're just going to have to detach your vehicles tail lights, get the wiring harness plugged in there and then reattach it so that this reconnects your or is kind of in between your connection, between your tail light and your wiring for your taillight. So you're gonna still have that same signal when you're driving around normally without towing the trailer. But then when you put the trailer up, it's going to mirror those taillight functions. The yellow and brown side will go to your driver's side, which is where you'll be mounting this box. And then your green will go over to your passenger side and then this will be underneath your vehicle so that it's easy to hook up for you.

One thing I really like about this system, this box is really small. So it's gonna be very easy to find a place to mount it. And that might not seem like a big deal, but I've done several of these and sometimes that is a very difficult part. Is trying to find a flat surface that you can mount this to. They do include some double-sided tape that you can stick to the back of that.

Get it mounted in place. You are gonna need to run a line up to your battery. That's going to provide the electrical system, so it's not putting too much of a strain on your vehicle lights wiring setup. So they do include significant amount of wire, fuse holder for you to get that connected. So you can connect it to your battery. So that will provide power back to your trailer. This is a really easy system to get installed. The hardest part is probably gonna be running this wire up to your battery. You do wanna make sure that you're staying away from anything that's gonna be hot or moving. So that's not gonna damage the wire and include plenty of these strips to get connected underneath your vehicle, depending on where you're running it up, but definitely something that you can do on your own. I installed a system very similar to this on my wife's vehicle. It only took me a couple hours to get everything put together. So definitely something that you can do being that you don't have to run any splice into your vehicle's wiring at all. It's really simple process, just kind of clipping from the light wiring, your taillight and then putting this in place. Very simple setup. It does come with a dust cap for your trailer connector so that as this is living outside the vehicle, you're not gonna have to worry about dust, moisture and that sort of thing getting onto your connection points. This is gonna provide five amps per circuit for your stop and turn lights. And will provide 7.5 amps per circuit for your tail lights. So overall, really everything that you're gonna need is right here. If you've already got the hitch, you're just needing to get your wiring. This is gonna be the kit that you need. Tocontra is a great brand. They're well-trusted. They use a potting material in this box so that your connections are gonna be nice and solid in there. You're not gonna have to worry about them rattling loose. So it's a really nice option. Tocontra is a really quality brand. So if you are looking to get a vehicle wiring harness, this is a top pick in my opinion. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
