Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - TK67FR Review

Hello everybody. This is [email protected] Today, we're going to take a look at this T1 vehicle wiring harness, with the four way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2020 Mazda CX-30 vehicles and on a custom fit part like this, I'd like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, putting your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Now this harness provides a nice four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle, to power your trailer's signal lights.

This is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This harness does connect very quickly and easily. Basically you just locate your connection points in the rear cargo area. Plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, ground your white wire and run your power wire, your vehicles battery. If you notice this black box here, this is a ModuLite converter box. This is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer, and the power module connect directly to your battery to avoid overloading the vehicles electrical system.

Now the wire here that the four ways attached to that goes out to your trailer. This is a bonded wire. It's a 16 gauge bonded wire. And if you notice on the four way, it comes with this integrated dust cover for the four way. So if you're not plugged into your trailer, you can just put that dust cap over the terminals, protects from the elements or from any damage.

A few specs on this harness, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is five amps per circuit, and the tail lights is 7.5 amps per circuit, this harness does come with everything laid out here on the table, has a nice set of detailed instructionsthat'll describe how it installs with pictures of, where your connections are. So basically what you want to do first is you'll go to the rear of the vehicle and you want to start on the driver's side. You'll take this T-connector that has the yellow wire in it. That's for the driver's side. And you'll find the wiring harness in your rear cargo area, unplug it, and then connect this up to the driver's side.

And then you'll go to the passenger side and you'll take this T-connector, it has the green wire in it. Run this over to the passenger side and you'll find the same harness, unplug it and plug this into that with those two connected. What you want to do is attach this ModuLite to a nice flat surface, so it doesn't bounce around. They do give you a piece of double face tape to do that with, and then you'll have your white wire with an eyelet on it that needs to connect to a good clean ground. If there's one nearby, if not, they do have a ground screw, they include that you could make your own ground. And then your last wire is your power wire. Now this wire needs to run to the vehicles battery. So you'll need this to run to the front of the vehicle. So they give you this length of wire and some connectors to do that. So you'll take a butt connector, attach it to the power wire and connect it to one end of this heart. Length of wire run this up to the battery, you don't want to connect it directly to the battery. You want to connect it through this inline fuse holder. So take the other butt connector, connect it to one side of the fuse holder, just like that. And then on the other side, you take your eyelid connector, connect it to the other wire in the fuse holder, and then connect that to the battery with a connect it. Open up your fuse holder, take your included, 15 amp fuse, insert it into the fuse holder. Once you get it installed, put your cap on there and your systems all ready to go. Now they do include some cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring. But that should do it for the review on this T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector.
