Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - TK69FR Review

Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2021 Toyota Sienna vehicles and on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now, this harness will provide this four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with our five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website.

That does include this tail light connector to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. This is a nice power module that'll connect directly to the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. And it is constructed using SMT, which is surface mount technology, for consistent, reliable performance. It'll help maximize trailer light yield and intensity, while producing minimal heat and it ensures superior operation on rough road conditions. Now this harness does connect very quickly and easily.

What you want to do is locate the connection point that's in the rear cargo area of your vehicle. Now it does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe where that connection is and how everything hooks up. Once you find that connection point, take this connector right here and plug this into the eight pin connector that'll be located on the driver's side on the floor, near the rear seat. Once that's plugged in, and you'll see you have this inline fuse holder, what you wanna do is make sure, it includes a 15 amp fuse, make sure that's all installed ready to go, put your cap back on it and then after that what you want to do is this black module box, it'd got some weight to it so you don't want to bouncing around, so you want to attach that to a nice flat surface. So it has a tab here with a hole and you can put a screw through there, or if not they do include some double face tape that you can put on there to secure it down.

Once that's done, you have the remaining white wire that needs to connect to a good clean ground. It has an eyelet on it, so if there's a ground nearby you can connect it. If not, they give you a screw that you can make your own ground. And once it's all hooked up, you just run this length of wire out the back towards where your trailer's at. They do give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring.

And if you notice on the four way, it comes with this nice integrated dust cover that you can put on the terminals when it's not plugged in to protect it from any damage or from the elements. A few specs on this harness, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is 5 amps per side, tail lights 7.5 amps per circuit. But that should do it for the review on this T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector..

Would this connector work if I had a small trailer that had trailer brakes? Also is a trailer brake controller that is compatible with the 2021 sienna and this connector be available through this site? Thank you for your time

The T-One # TK69FR provides power to the trailer lights, but to use a brake controller to control your brakes you will need to use the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 . The ETBC7 kit provides you with the rest of the wiring that you need to connect your brake controller.
