Thule - Roof Rack,Hitch Bike Racks,Roof Bike Racks,Roof Box,Ski and Snowboard Racks - TH450400 Revie

Today we're taking a look at the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders. Now this kit comes in a two pack, four pack, six pack or eight pack. All of those options are available at etrailer.com. Today, for demonstration purposes, I am showing you the four pack of the One-Key System Lock Cylinders. Now the lock cylinders are simply designed to replacement the cores on your Thule products to make each lock keyed alike. This also allows you to add locks to your rack, carrier or any other lockable Thule product that may not already have a lock installed.

It comes with what you need to get set up, so it comes with your keys, comes with a universal master key which lets you remove pre-installed Thule lock cores and install your new ones. I do want to point out that the keys themselves have a really nice textured design. They do have a slot so you could attach them to a key ring. They're just very easy to use and operate. The other thing I wanna point out is Thule engineered these to be extra thick when it comes to the tumbler design.

It features longer protrusions which helps prevent forced openings. So that's really gonna protect your gear. Now I do have a leg kit here today that has a plastic lock core installed. So what we would do is we would remove the cap and then we would just punch out that plastic core, just like that, set that off to the side. We will not be reinstalling or using it again. Then we take one of our new lock cores.

We're gonna take that universal key, we're gonna place it in, and as we place it in it's gonna bring in all the protrusions. So you can see there that all the protrusions on this side that we're out are now brought in. This is gonna allow us to install this into the body of whatever product we wanna install a lock core on. So we place it in there, gently pull the key out so that way the lock core stays in, as we pull that key out, those protrusions extend so that's gonna hold it in place, it cannot be pushed out. Then we can place this back onto the unit, then we can use one of our keys to move it to a locked position.

Now it's locked, it's installed, it's very quick and easy. That process is similar on any application where you're gonna be installing the new lock core.If you need to remove it, this would also be how you remove an existing lock core. You take the universal key, all you gotta do is place it in there and gently pull that out and it removes the whole core. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders.
