TireMinder TPMS - RV - Trailer - TM69FR Review

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this TireMinder Bluetooth TPMS for RVs with this LCD monitor, and the six external tire sensors. Now this TPMS system will let you monitor your RV's tire pressure and temperature, they have this included LCD monitor, or if you want, you can even use your own smartphone. It is designed to work great with your motor home, fifth wheel, or trailer. Now, if you do use your own smartphone as this happens to be my iPhone right here, you do download the TireMinder app and that'll let you use the smartphone as a monitor. It'll let you receive notifications on your Bluetooth enabled smartphone.

It gives you optional data logging, let you review the changes in pressure and temperature over the course of your trip. It is iPhone, iPad, and Android compatible. But now this kit does include this large, easy to read, LCD monitor. It provides a nice early warning detection with visual and audible alerts. It does detect blowouts, significant pressure changes, and tire temperatures exceeding 167 degrees. Just to show you, there's a button right up at the top here, if you push it you can see it goes onto the on, you can see it.

It shows you it's monitoring it right now. If you push both up and down buttons at the same time for about five seconds it'll go to the learn feature and you can see it'll list all 22 positions where you can put your sensors. When you put your battery in your sensor and attach it to your valve stem it'll show it on here and then you can put it to where you want to locate it. And when you're done learning, push both buttons again for about five seconds and it goes back to monitoring. And it will monitor all the sensors you put on.Now, you can see it'll show in PSI.

If you push that button, it'll show Fahrenheit. If you want to change those settings, what you want to do is hold the middle button for about five seconds and now you'll see it'll say baseline, and the PSI is flashing. If you push that button, you can switch it to bar, if you want to read the pressure in bar. If you push it, you go back to PSI, push that button again, it'll move it over to the temperature. You can see the Fahrenheit's flashing.

If you push that button, it'll go to Celsius, if you prefer. I can go back to Fahrenheit. And again, if you hold that button for five seconds it goes back to the monitoring position. It's pretty easy to operate. It does come with this nice operating manual to describe how it operates. This will refresh automatically with new tire information every four minutes. It is a color display so it will show warnings in red and yellow that makes it easy to read quickly. It does come with this included USB charger that'll plug into your vehicle's 12 volt accessory outlet, or you can even plug it into a wall outlet. And it does include this micro USB charging cable to charge the monitor. The six tire sensors right here, they will check the tire pressure and temperature every six seconds. They are a brass construction, so they're designed for use on rubber, steel, chrome, or nickel valve stems. They do use upgraded sensors to provide accurate reading within one PSI. And the sensors installed easily onto your tire's valve stem, they just screw on, take off your valve cap, screw those on. They actually come with jam nuts that you can actually put on and then you tighten those nuts down, it'll actually lock these two year valve stems so somebody can not just come along and remove them.It comes with a wrench to do that and a valve core tool. It comes with the six sensors, comes with batteries, 12 total batteries, so you'll have the six to start with and then six replacement batteries it comes with. Now, if you do want additional sensors because the monitor will monitor up to 22 tires. If you want to purchase additional sensors, we do sell those separately on our website. The monitor holder right here, this mounts to your windshield or your dashboard using this suction cup. And it is a ball and socket joint right up here to let you adjust the monitor to optimal viewing position. And it does have a magnet feature right here that allow you to attach your monitor right to there and then you can move it whatever position you need. You can even turn it horizontal if you prefer. And again, once you get it to where you want just tighten this down, it'll hold it into place. It does come with this Rhino booster. This will strengthen the sensor signal, eliminates any electronic interference. And also this nice storage bag, it's a zippered storage bag. Now, if you go to put your monitor in there to carry it you do need to remove this to make it fit, if you want to close it. If you move your antenna just like that it'll allow you to slip it into the bag and you can zipper it closed, have a handle to carry it with. Throw your antenna in there. And then when you're ready to use it, just pull it out, put the antenna right back on. And I noticed it's still on, to turn this off all you have to do is hold it down, this top button, about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds it will go off.Now a few specs on this, we're going to go over some dimensions. We're going to start with these tire sensors right here. The diameter on these are about three quarters of an inch. The height on them, they're about one inch tall. Pressure range on these sensors is zero PSI to 199 PSI. Operating frequency is 433 megahertz, operating temperature range, negative four degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. And the battery life they estimate is about nine months to 14 months. Now, on the monitor itself, a few dimensions on that, overall height not including this antenna, bottom to the top is about five and three quarter inches. If you measure with the antenna it's about seven and a half inches. The width on it is right about four inches wide and the depth is right about three quarters of an inch deep. The screen dimension from corner to corner is going to be right at about five inches. And the battery life on this is about two weeks to four weeks, and the battery recharge time is about six hours. And as I did mention earlier, it does come with this nice operating manual to describe how it operates and everything. But that should do it for the review on the TireMinder, Bluetooth TPMS for RVs with the inaudible 00:06:18 CD monitor and the six external tire sensors.
