Review of Titan Brake Actuator T2477600

Today we're going to take a look at the Titan Zinc Plated Bolt-on Drum Brake Actuator designed to fit a 2-5/16 ball and has a 12,500-lb weight capacity. This hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. It uses a unique roller 00:00:16 design to reduce resistance during the telescoping to create straight line movement. Also, if you notice on the top roller they do put a grease zerk fitting on the end of the roller for lubrication. This is a durable, sturdy, steel construction, it helps resisting bending in any jackknife situations. It is designed to attach to a standard 2-5/16 diameter hitch ball.

Just release the lever right here, drop it onto the hitch ball, and then close it and it'll lock it right on. The break away kit right here, the lever and the chain is all included. I just want to show you how that would operate. Go ahead and unhook this, has the S-hook on the end, and you can see it gives you a long enough chain, and what the break away kit does is you would hook this S-hook to your tow vehicle, and then if you ever get in a situation where the trailer will come detached from the tow vehicle, it would pull this chain which would activate the lever, and that would apply the brakes to the runaway trailer. This all has a nice zinc plating on it to provide corrosion resistance. If you notice on the bottom here, all the holes, this is a bolt-on installation to your trailer tongue.

The application on this is for hydraulic drum brakes, and again, the ball size it fits is a 2-5/16 diameter. Mounting this on a trailer tongue requires a 3" wide channel tongue for this to fit on. Again, the weight capacity on this is 12,500-lbs, maximum tongue weight is 1,250. If I swing it around to the back here, if you'll notice right here is your connection to where your hydraulic line would go into your master cylinder. On this one it does not include a reverse lockout, so because of that we like to recommend that you equip your trailer with three backing 00:02:00 brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer brakes. That should do it for the review on the Titan Zinc Plated Bolt-on Drum Brake Actuator to fit a 2-5/16 diameter ball and has a 12,500-lb weight capacity..
