Review of Titan Brake Actuator T4079200

We're going to take a look at the Titan zinc-plated, bolt-on drum brake actuator, designed for the 2-5/16 standard ball. It has an 8000 lb weight capacity. How this hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. Uses a unique roller design that'll reduce the resistance during the telescoping of the actuator to create a nice straight line movement. It is a sturdy durable steel construction, so that will help resist bending in any jack-knife situations. The coupler rod up front here is a standard heavy duty coupler designed to fit on a 2-5/16 hitch ball. Uses the lock right here that just pull up on this and when you open this up and allow the hitch ball to go in there, and when you close it that link ring will lock right into place to hold the hitch ball in there. Now it also comes with a standard breakaway kit here, which is included, just to show you when I unhook this.

You have your cable on the end of the carabiner hook and that carabiner hook will attach to your tow vehicle and the other end you can see here is attached to this lever. If you get into a situation where the trailer would ever come detached from the tow vehicle, it'll pull on this cable which will activate the lever and that'll activate the brakes on the trailer to keep it from a runaway situation. Now this actuator has a nice zinc-plating to it, provides corrosion resistance. If you look on the bottom here you see hose here, this is a bolt-on installation to your trailer top. The application on this is for hydraulic drum brakes, as I mentioned this fits a 2-5/16 standard hitch ball. Mounting this you'd need a 3" wide channel tunnel that this will mount to.

The weight capacity on the actuator is 8000 lbs. the maximum ton weight is 800 lbs. The last thing I'll show you, on the very back here you can see here is your connection for your hydraulic brake-line. Underneath is the master cylinder. You can see the cap here that you can put fluid into your master cylinder. Now this model does not use a reverse lock-out on it, so it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes, so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer brakes. That should do it for the review on the Titan zinc-plated, bolt-on drum brake actuator for a 2-5/16 ball and a 8000 lb weight capacity..
