Review of TorkLift Trailer Hitch TLF1008-30

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the TorkLift SuperHitch, Custom Fit, Class V, Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver. It has a 30,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity when used with weight distribution. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2017 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks. This is a heavy-duty hitch so it lets you tow heavy loads, even when using a TorkLift hitch extension or a weight distribution system. Both of those items we do sell separately on our website. Basically, you can max out the 30,000 pound capacity on the hitch when you use the TorkLift's Everest weight distribution system, part number TLWD1000.If you notice on this hitch, it has dual stacked, vertically stacked receivers here, that will let you tow a trailer and even use a hitch mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time.

It is compatible with industry standard ball mounts and hitch accessories. Now, this is a truck camper friendly torque lift design. By that, they mean it's designed to use other, the TorkLift accessories with it. Right here, they've got holes drilled into the side brackets. They do that to accept the TorkLift camper tie-downs. We do sell them separately.

And again, the SuperTruss extension by TorkLift, that you can install in both openings here. What it does is extend your hitch receiver out if you're carrying a bed-mounted camper on your truck. Again, we sell that separately. This is made of a sturdy steel construction. It uses high penetration dual-shield welding to ensure strength and durability. Around the hitch pin holes, you can see they actually hardened and reinforced the hitch pin holes to prevent any elongation from wear.

It is a simple bolt-on installation. No welding required. If you notice, I left one of the bolts loose, here but when you install the crossmember to the side plates, they use the rib-nut bolts. What's nice about that, is when you go to install them you have to tap them in and then put the nut on the back, here. When you tap them in, that secures them into place for extra security. It does have a nice black powder coat finish on it to help resist corrosion.

Right down here, you can notice it does have the safety chain loops. They're all built in. It does come with everything shown here on the table, all the brackets and hardware necessary. It comes with the two hitch pins and clips. Now, hitch locks if you want, we do sell those separately. This is custom fit for your vehicle. The part is made in the USA.A few specs on this. On the hitch receiver openings, the top receiver opening is going to be 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches. They do include an adapter sleeve that you can slide in there and that will reduce it to 2 inches by 2 inches. The bottom one will always be 2 inches by 2 inches. The cross tube is 4 inches by 4 inches. The rating on this again is a Class V, which means it has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 20,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight capacity of 2,500 pounds. Now, when used with weight distribution, it'll have the maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 30,000 pounds and maximum tongue weight with weight distribution will be 3,000 pounds. That should do it for the review on the TorkLift SuperHitch, Custom Fit, Class V, Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver with the 30,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity, when used with weight distribution.

What is the measurement between frame to frame for this hitch? I like this hitch and would like to bolt it on to my 1997 ford f150xlt 4x4. The hitch I have now is a single receiver, and the width between frame to frame is approx. 37 & 1/2 ", with four bolts each side.

This hitch measures 39-9/16" between the mounting flanges alone so it will be too large to fit your application (see attached answer page). It doesn't look like there are any double-receiver hitches made for your '97 F-150 unfortunately.
