Review of Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118405

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 118405. This is the tow-ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with your four-pole flat trailer connector. This project is going to fit certain years and models of the Toyota Corolla, FJ Cruiser, and Camry. It's also going to fit certain years and models of the Mazda 6, Mazda 3, and Mazda CX7. This unit, once fully installed, is going to provide your 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. The benefit of a system like this is that it connects quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection points in your rear cargo area.

Those are going to be behind the tail lights on both the driver side and passenger side of your vehicle. Then you're going to have all these plugs that you need to plug in to the vehicle's wiring harness. Now, the instructions are going to do a good job at outlining where all those connections are and where those plugs are for the particular vehicle that you're installing this on. Very detailed instructions, these are included. They're going to walk you through the installation process step by step. Once you have all the connectors plugged into place, you'll need to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery. Your hot lead is going to be the red wire right here.

You're going to connect it to the black wire using the included butt connector. The other end of the black wire get connected to the fuse holder with the included butt connector, and the the other end of the fuse holder gets connected to the positive post on the vehicle battery using the included ring terminal. It's also going to come with the included fuse. It's going to come with the self-tapping screw, that way you can make your ground connection. Ground connection is the white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. It's going to come with some double-sided adhesive tape and some adhesive foam padding, as well as some zip ties.

Now, the double-sided adhesive tape is going to be used to secure the ModuLite, your converter box. It's a nice clean surface, making sure it doesn't interfere with any other components and that it stays up and out of the way. The ModuLite. This is designed to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. It's going to connect directly to the battery through the wiring, and that's going to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. The unit's going to be constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire. It's going to come with the 4-way flat connector on this end as well as a dust cap to protect those connection points when the connector's not being used.

You can see here you've got plenty of wiring, that's just all bundled right now, but you're really going to be able to extend it out of the back of your vehicle when you're ready to make your connection. Once you're installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector is going to be stowed within your trunk or rear cargo area. When it comes to maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 2.1 amps per circuit. For the tail lights, we're looking at 4.2 amps per circuit. Now again, the custom fit connectors are going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, again located inside the rear trunk or cargo space behind the tail lights on both sides of your vehicle. Once you plug in the T-connector, again you'll need to run the hot lead up to your vehicle battery. I walked you through how to make all those connectors. The zip ties are going to be included, that way you can secure any excess wiring or slack in your wiring that you may have. It makes for an overall neater appearance. Another thing is that we're always going to recommend using a small amount of grease on all electrical connections to help prevent corrosion. If you don't have any dielectric grease, you can pick up some here on our website while you're here. That's going to do it for our review of part number 118405. This is the T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector. .
