Review of Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118573

Today we are going to be taking a look at Part Number 118573. This is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This product is going to fit certain years and models of the Subaru Impreza. It is going to provide the 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with 5-Pole, 6-Pole and 7-Pole adapters. Your adapters are sold separately and it is going to come with a dust cap for the 4-Way Flat Connector.

That you can cover up and protect the connection points when the plug is not being used. One of the things I like about this system is that the dust cap is actually tethered and built into the housing on the plug, unlike some other systems that have a loop that go around the plug. Sometimes that can wear out. It can get loose. It can break and you can lose it. With it built into the housing, you don't have to worry about misplacing or losing the cap for your 4-way flat connector. It's also going to include the module light.

It is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The powered module is going to connect directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. Another benefit of a system like this is that it is designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing the wires on your vehicle. Only one cut needs to be made.

That's going to be the cut here on the fuse holder. You can see right here that it's a complete loop. You will just cut that right in the middle because we are going to get a ring terminal attached to one end and a butt connector attached to the other. What you will need to do is locate your connection points at the back of the vehicle behind the tail lights. You are going to take your connectors and you are going to plug them in. Now the plugs on the connector are going to match up perfectly with the plugs on the vehicle.

The yellow and brown wire side, that is going to go to the driver's side of the vehicle. The green and red wire side, that is going to go to the passenger side of the vehicle. Once you have those connected, you will make a ground connection. That is going to white wire with the ring terminal attached to it and you will make your ground with the included self tapping screw. Just make sure to connect it to a nice clean metal surface. The next step is going to be to run the hot lead to the vehicle battery. Your hot lead is going to be the red wire coming out of the module light converter box. That's going to get connected to the bundle of black wire. They give you plenty of wiring. That way you can extend it all the way up to the vehicle battery. These two are going to get connected with one of the included butt connectors. The other end of the black wire is going to get connected to one half of the fuse holder with a butt connector and then the other half of the fuse holder is going to get the ring terminal attached to it and that's going to get connected to the positive post on the vehicle batter. It does come with a 10 amp fuse and installs right here in the fuse holder and it has the fuse cap to protect the fuse inside of the holder. You are also going to get some zip ties to secure any excess or slacking or wiring. You are going to get double-sided adhesive tape. That way you can mount the converter box in a nice, clean out of the way area and it's going to come with detailed instructions. It's going to walk you through the installation process step by step. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights is going to be 2.1 amps per circuit. For the tail lights, we are looking at 5.6 amps per circuit. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of di-electric grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. That is going to help prevent corrosion. That is going to do it for today's look at Part Number 118573.
