TruRyde Trailer Spindles - EZ Lube Spindle - TRU74FR Review

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the axle spindle for your trailer. This is a EZ Lube number 84 type spindle. And it does work with axles that are 3,500 pounds in capacity, so if you have a worn out axle, or axle spindle, I should say, this is going to be a great way to replace that without having to remove the entire axle itself. You can just cut off the end for your spindle, weld this one on in place, and then you're ready to go. Also, if you want to create a fabricated or create a custom axle, this is a great way to do that as well because you can kind of make it how you want it.

So let's take a closer look and make sure that this is the right fit for your particular application.Again, the actual spindle is going to work for your 3,500 pound trailer axles. So this has a spindle capacity of 1,750 pounds. Since we get two of these for either side of our axle, that's what gives us that 3,500 pound trailer axle capacity. It does have a brake flange welded in place. It's going to have a four bolt pattern for you at brake configuration.

The stud end or the stub end has a diameter of about an inch and three quarters. The overall length of the spindle going up from the outer edge to the end there is about nine inches. At the end, you can see that there's a greaser there. That's where the EZ Lube spindle comes in. So you can put that grease gun on the end, pump it up full of grease, and it's going to come out here towards the back of the assembly and make sure that everything is lubricated in between so you don't have to worry about any kind of wear and tear occurring on that spindle. Of course, if you keep it greased up, it's going to help to keep it lubricated for many years and prevent any kind of damage. What you don't want are gouges or scratches to get into the spindle here, and it's a good idea to replace the bearings and seals and everything, or the bearings and races and everything else on your axle spindle so that you don't have any of that damage transferred from maybe some damaged parts from before.

So you want to probably get some new ones, and the parts for that will fit this are listed out on the product page here at etrailer.com, so if you want to pick those up at the same time, it's a good time to do that.It does come with the castle nuts and the keeper, just kind of a little tab there with a couple of tabs that provide some force on the castle nut, and then finally our sort of D shaped washer there with that little cutout to fit against the edge to make sure that it doesn't spin. Again, those come with it. This is made out of a sturdy steel construction. Again, weld on application. And that's really about all there is to it for our look at the number 84 EZ Lube spindle with brake flange.

I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right one for you. Again, you can find all those parts and more for your trailer right here at etrailer.com, so check them out. Thanks for watching.
