Weigh Safe Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Adjustable Ball Mount - LTB8-2 Review

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the 180 2-Ball Mount. This is going to attach to your tow vehicle. It's going to allow you to connect several different kinds of trailers up so that you can haul them behind your vehicle. This does slide into your two-inch by two-inch hitch receiver tube on your vehicle.

And it's going to provide the ball attachment points for your coupler. We do have two different balls here. This is a two-inch diameter ball. So we'll work with your two inch diameter couplers and your two and five 16th inch diameter ball or work with your couplers for that size ball. Both of these balls are a stainless steel construction. So unlike some of your other options out there on the market, that may have a corrosion resistant coating on them that can chip off over time and damage the ball with rust and corrosion.

These are going to be solid stainless steel all the way to the core. So you never have to worry about them rusting or corroding. So they're going to hold up very well for you. Now, as far as our weight capacities go, our two inch diameter ball here is going to have an 8,000 pound weight capacity. Our two and five 16th inch ball is going to have a 12,500 pound weight capacity. Keep in mind that weight capacity is both the trailer and the load included.

Both balls have the same maximum tongue weight, which is going to be 1,500 pounds. And that's the downward pressure on your ball. So you want to make sure that you arrange your trailer so that you're not exceeding that downward pressure. To switch the balls. It's very easy. You just take off the rubber cap here that protects our lock cord.

Just give that lock a half twist, pull out the two pen lock, and you can just simply lift, you rotate, set that back down, reinstall your pins to whatever height you need. And then you have either option very easy to switch those around. So if you are using multiple different kinds of trailers of different size couplers, very easy to get that switched back and forth. Another really nice option that you've probably already deduced is that this will allow you to slide up and down here so that we can adjust to different heights of trailers. It's very important to make sure that your trailer is level as you're going down the road and so that everything rides properly. So this will allow you to use several different height trailers, connected to the same tow vehicle with this ball mount. So if we we're to have it in the drop position, like it is here, we're going to have a maximum drop from the top inside edge of our receiver tube, down to the bar mount surface, that's going to be a max drop of eight inches. We'll have height increments of one inch as we go up. And then we can flip this over into our rise position. We have this at the maximum rise from the top inside edge, up to the top or the top edge of our ball platform. It's going to be nine inches of rise. So again, it's going to be eight inches of drop nine inches of rise with one inch height adjustments. So lots of different variety there let's ensure that we can work with several different kinds of trailers. Our locking pin here very easy to use just slides right in when we have this lined up and where we want it to be, and then give it a half twist. We'll hold that and make sure that it's going to stay where it needs to be. That no one can get it off of there. And then our rubber cap here is going to help again, protect that lock cord and make sure any dirt debris, moisture stays out of there. So we don't have to worry about that corroding. Now, our two balls are stainless steel, but the rest of this is going to be T6 billet aluminum. So it's going to resist rust and corrosion. It's very lightweight. So it's very easy to manage and it's going to stay looking nice for a nice long time. So not only is it super strong, lightweight, but it's also going to look really nice for years to come. So the distance from our center of our ball, back to our hitch pin holes from the nearer hole to the center, it's going to be about eight and a half inches. And then from the center of our ball to the rear most hole, it's going to be about nine and five eights, nine and three quarters, something along those lines. So keep that in mind, different hitches have different alignments. So you want to make sure that this is going to work for you, but it's going to be very easy to just slide into your hitch receiver tube. This is a solid shank. So it's going to be very durable, hold up well for you. This does meet the SAE J684 certification. So you can trust. It's going to hold up. Well, do a good job. Be very strong and durable. Get the job done for you. It also meets the VESC regulations and is V-5 compliant. So again meets those high quality standards should do a really good job for you. This is made here in the USA, so you can trust. It's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S and it does come with a limited lifetime warranty. So if you we're to have any problems with it, you could always give us a call. We'd be happy to work with you. And we always want to make sure that our customers are having a good experience with us and getting quality products. But I really don't think you're going to have any problems with this. I think this is a really well-built ball mount. It gives you a lot of options with that height adjustment, different size ball attachments. So I think it's going to be a really, really helpful ball mount for you. Especially if you're using lots of different kinds of trailers with different heights and everything. Keep in mind. This is just one of the options we do have other options that are the exact same thing. The 180 brand that has different shanks here, so that if you maybe need a little bit longer of a height adjustment, or maybe a little bit shorter, you can get shorter with this. So it just depends on what you need, but we do have lots of options here at etrailer.com. We want to make sure that you're getting the one that's going to work best for you.So that's going to complete our look for today, again on Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
