Westin Hitch Step - PRO TRAXX 5 Hitch Step - W76TD Review

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Westin PRO TRAXX 5 Hitch Step. This is a hitch-mounted step that's gonna make it easier for you to get into your truck's bed, to access your cargo area, or your ladder rack, or roof rack. It's gonna give you that step up, so that's gonna make it much easier for you. This is going to slide into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. It's gonna be very quick, easy to install.

You do have three different holes here for your hitch pins. So that's gonna accommodate different depths of hitch pin holes on your receiver tube. The hitch pin and clip are not included. You probably already have one for your other hitch-mounted accessories, but if not, we do carry lots of options available here at etrailer.com, as you'll just need a standard 5/8 inch hitch pin there. Or we also have locking pins to make sure that your step stays in place.

No one's gonna be able to take it off. But it only weighs about 13 pounds, so it's gonna be very easy to work with, put in place, take off when you don't want it. It's 27 inches in total width, but we do have a 14 inch wide by 4 1/4 inch raised tread here on our saddle pad. It's gonna provide nice, sure footing for us as we're stepping up to make sure that our feet aren't gonna slip off even in bad weather and that sort of thing. On the back side here, you can see, we do have this hitch stabilization bracket.

Also you'll have this bolt on the underside. And so, once you get this slid into your receiver tube, you'll tighten that bolt down on the receiver tube, and that's gonna help prevent the step from rattling. So it's gonna give you a nice stable surface to step up on, and you can see it does have a nice, polished stainless steel construction. So it is gonna be durable, corrosion resistant, and it's also going to match your PRO TRAXX Nerf Bars, so if you have those Nerf Bars, this is gonna give you more of an integrated look with that oval tubing and black rubber pad there. You can see the ends are fully sealed, so we're not gonna have to worry about moisture getting in, so it's gonna help prevent any corrosion there.

But I don't think you're gonna have any problems at all. I think this can do a really good job for you, giving you that step-up so that you can more easily access your gear.
