Review of Yakima Accessories and Parts Y07076

Today we're going to take a look at the spare tire carrier for Yakima roof rack cargo baskets. This part will help keep your spare tire accessible and out of the way when using this spare tire carrier for the Yakima roof rack cargo basket. It includes everything shown here on the table, the bottom plate with the hardware, the wheel plate right here with the handle assembly, and then two protective pads that go on the bottom of the wheel plate to protect your spare tire wheel. This is designed to fit the Yakima LoadWarrior and MegaWarrior cargo baskets. This part will mount inside your roof rack cargo basket. It does install and remove quickly and easily with a quick release, and it will accommodate spare tires up to 35" in outside diameter. You can even lock it here.

You line this up and you can put a padlock through there if you'd like for extra security. Now, the padlock we would sell separately. The diameter of the hole that the padlock would fit in is 1/4". It does come with a nice set of detailed instructions that describe how to put it all together, but basically what happens is this bottom plate will go underneath your roof rack cargo basket, attaching using these rubber-protected clamps to hold it to your cargo basket. Then you'll put your spare tire on top of there. Make sure the hole of the spare tire will center over this hook here.

Use these protective bands, put on your wheel plate here, and then you'll drop this in the hole of the wheel and then just hook it to there and then tighten that down. Again, with those protective pads there, when you tighten it down it'll go up against the wheel so there's no damage, and then once you get it tightened down all the way you just line this lever up with the holder and you can put your lock through there if you prefer. It does include this bolt that'll go through a bolt hole in the wheel to keep it lined up and keep it from turning when you're tightening it down. The last thing I want to give you is just the dimension on the bottom plate. The bottom plate itself would be lengthwise, right about 12" long, and the width of it is right at 4-3/4" wide. That should do it for the review on the spare tire carrier for the Yakima roof rack cargo baskets..
