etrailer Hitch Anti-Rattle - Anti-Rattle Hitch Tightener - e99007 Review

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with Today we're going to take a quick look at the etrailer hitch tightener. This is going to mount onto your hitch mount accessory and your receiver tube on your hitch, and it's going to take away a lot of that shake and rattle that you're used to with your hitch mount accessory. So as you're driving down the road, you're not going to get so much play and noise rattling. And if you've got a cargo carrier it's going to help protect your cargo from a lot of that bouncing and movement. If you've got a bike rack on there with your bikes you obviously don't want those to get jostled around too much.

So this is going to be a great option for you to help tighten that all up, and make sure that you're not getting as much movement at your hitch receiver tube.So we've got our top plate here and our U bolt, you can see our U bolt does have this vinyl coating on it, which is not only going to help protect your hitch mount accessories from metal on metal contact, it's going to help protect the finish there, but it's also going to give just a little bit of a cushion to help make that connection even more snug so that we're going to get a nice tight fit.You can see we've got all the hardware that we're going to need to get this installed, and a wrench to install it. This is going to work with your 2" by 2" receiver tubes and accessories. So that two inch by two inch is pretty common for your bike racks and cargo carriers. So as long as you've got a 2" by 2" accessory this is going to be a great option for you.I do have a little model here to show you how this is going to work. So you can see we've got our ball mount and or this could be any hitch accessory, a cargo carrier, or bike rack.

When we move it around it's going to make a lot of noise, it's pretty loose inside there. We've really just got our pin and clip here that's holding it, and that's really only designed to keep the hitch accessory from coming out so that it's going to stay connected, but it's not going to do anything against that noise. So that's where our hitch tightener comes in.So we're going to take our U bolt and place it right up against the edge of our hitch, keep it nice and snug there, and we're going to take our plate, and you can see how it kind of goes down, we want that going down towards the accessory. And then we're going to put on our washers and lock nuts, and then our nuts. This is a very simple process, very easy to do, it doesn't take much time at all to get this installed. We use the wrench that's supplied to us, tighten those down, nice and easy.

Doesn't take much to get that tightened down. Of course I don't have anything on here right now, so the more weight you have on there the tighter you probably want to put that just to make sure that it's compensating. But you can see that is nice and snug now, we're not going to have to worry about it jostling around, potentially damaging any of our items that we have mounted on our hitch, and it's going to cut down a lot on that noise. We're not going to have to worry about it clunking around in the back and making us nervous or anything. It's nice and snug, everything is the way we want it to be.

So very elegant, simple design, but it's going to do a lot for that vibration at your hitch receiver tube. That's going to complete our look at the etrailer hitch tightener. Again, I'm Michael with, thanks for watching.
