etrailer Hitch Reducer and Extender - e53YR Review

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the etrailer seven inch long, 2 1/2 inch to two inch hitch reducer and extender. Now, this hitch reducer and extender installs into your 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver and allows you to use a two inch hitch accessory in your hitch, and it'll extend it out an additional seven inches from your hitch opening. That additional seven inches from the rear of your vehicle gives you extra clearance for hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. This is a nice, sturdy steel shank.

Has a nice, black powder coat finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. And what's nice is this black, durable finish will also match the black finish that's used on our etrailer hitches. Now, when you do install this, it will require a hitch pin and clip or hitch lock to secure this to your hitch. And also, to secure your hitch accessories that go in here. Now, those items are not included.

We do sell those separately on our website. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. Application, again, this slides into a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver opening. And it'll give you a hitch receiver size up front here of two inches by two inches. Gross trailer weight capacity on this is 3,500 pounds.

Maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. Now, one note I do wanna mention and it is stamped up on the top here, that using this extender will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50%. Now, the extension length we mentioned is gonna be measured from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of that hole. So, if we put our ruler on it, there's your seven inch extension. Overall length front to back, right at 12 inches.

And then the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank in the back and the same up at the front, gonna be 2 1/2 inches there and 2 1/2 inches that way. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer seven inch long, 2 1/2 inch to two inch hitch reducer and extender..
