Today we're going to take a look at the pre-greased trailer idler hub assembly for 3500 pound EZ Lube axles. It has the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is a pre-greased idler hub assembly, which is designed to fit EZ Lube idler axles. If you notice it has the rubber plug on the front and on the back. The reason that is is because they've already pre-greased the bearings, installed them in the bearing races, and actually installed the grease seal in the back. It's pretty much all ready to go. It's very easy to install.

When you do receive this there is no need to pack the bearings. This is designed to fit easy-lube axles. Those are the axles that will have a grease zerk fitting on the end of the spindle that allows you grease the bearings without having to remove your complete hub assembly. Comes with this EZ Lube compatible grease cap, that when you do install this on it makes lubricating your bearings very fast and easy. Basically you just pop out the middle which is just a rubber plug and that gives you access to that zerk fitting on the easy-lube spindle. You put your grease gun in, connect it, and pump grease right in there, no need to disassemble the hub to get to your bearings. It includes everything shown here.

As I mentioned it comes with the bearing races already pre-installed, both outer and inner bearing race. Comes with the pre-greased bearings, both outer and inner. Even the pre-installed grease seal on the back, it's all ready to go. Comes with, I mentioned, the zinc plated EZ Lube grease cap with the rubber plug. Then the five, half inch, lug nuts. The hub itself is a sturdy iron construction.

It has a nice zinc enriched paint finish over the whole thing. It is certified by US SAE standards and CSA standards, which are the Canadian standards. Again the application on this is for 3500 pound EZ Lube trailer axles with the #84 spindles. It is compatible with axles from most manufacturers including Dexter, Lippert, and AL-KO. The hub flange diameter, which is the measurement across here from this side to this side, is six and a half inches. Because of that measurement it does require thirteen inch and larger wheels to go on here.

The bolt pattern again is five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. The wheel stud size is half inch by twenty and the weight capacity is 1750 pounds per hub. When this is matched with a hub on the other side of your axle it will meet your 3500 pound max limit on the axle. Again, the parts I mentioned that are already installed in there. The inner bearing, which is in the back here that's a part number L68149. The grease seal that holds it in is an overall diameter grease seal of 2.565. The outer bearing is the part number L44649. Then the zinc plated grease cap, the EZ Lube grease cap, with the rubber plug has a flange diameter of 1.99 inches. It does come with the five lug nuts which are a half inch by twenty size, those would be used to hold your wheel and tire assembly to the hub itself. Once you put your wheel up on the studs you just go ahead and put your lug nuts on. Then go ahead and tighten them down and torque them to the correct specs for your application.
