etrailer Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension - 7 Leaf Slipper Spring Hook End 8K Axle - e37SR Review

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at this seven leaf slipper spring with hooked end for 8,000 pound trailer axles. This slipper leaf spring ax is part of your trailer suspension system by providing an attachment point for an 8,000 pound axle. It is made from sturdy steel construction and it is designed to flex, to absorb road shock and provide a smooth ride, reducing wear and tear on your trailer. And it's going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.

Slipper leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. The eye of this spring will attach to the front hanger with the suspension bolt and the hooked slipper end of the spring will slide into the rear hanger. Now, if you have a tandem or triple axle trailer the slipper end will slide into the equalizer that connects multiple springs. The shape of the slipper end of a leaf spring may vary slightly due to differences among trailer manufacturers. So because of this it is important to check your leaf spring slipper end before purchasing a replacement spring.

If you're in need of hangers, suspension, bolts or equalizers, you can find them right here at etrailer.com. In the eye is a pre-installed nylon bushing, as you can see here, and the eye diameter with this bushing is gonna be nine 16ths of an inch. If you take this bushing out the eye diameter will be one in five 16ths inches. Again, this is a seven leaf spring as you can see right here. And the leaf thickness is three eighths of an inch.

This has a spring capacity of 4,000 pounds. And again, it is designed for 8,000 pound trailer axles. Now measuring the length here from the center of the eye to the end of this spring, we are sitting right at 26 and five eighths inches long. In the spring width, we are right at two inches. And I do wanna mention that additional dimensions with the diagram are available on this product page.

So if you we're in need of those measurements you can check those out on this product page. To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf spring should always be replaced in pairs. And we do recommend installation by a professional. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
