Best 2011 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty Front Hitch Options

Here are our best two hitch options. Here on top we're going to have the Draw-Tite. Here on the bottom we're going to have the CURT. Now in my opinion, as far as which hitch I would pick, it would be the Draw-Tite. It's going to work well with either the two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive model vehicle. It's going to stay completely hidden behind the air dam on the vehicle and it's going to do everything you need to do.

With our CURT, again, it's not going to work as well with your two-wheel drive models that sit a little bit lower in the front, and everything's going to show down past the air dam.If you notice our lower hitch here, our CURT, we're going to have side plates that are going to mount to the side of the frame rail, and then our hitch is going to mount to the side plates. Now, with this hitch you can use it in the rise position or the lower position, so it gives you two options. However, keep in mind, with this hitch this is going to be meant for more of your four-wheel drive vehicles that sit a little bit higher in the front. When this is put on the two-wheel drive model or two-wheel drive vehicle, the bottom of your receiver tube is only going to sit about 3" off the ground in the low position. When it's in the rise position, your side plates are only going to sit about 4" off the ground.

So just keep that in mind.On the four-wheel drive models, this piece right here, which is your air dam, the truck sits higher so this air dam's a little bit longer. It's going to hide a lot of this plate and it's going to hide a lot of this crosstube. On your two-wheel drive models, with this air dam being smaller, those hang down here, so you're going to see a lot more.With our Draw-Tite, you can see here on our two-wheel drive model, our Draw-Tite is completely hidden behind this air dam. The only thing we see is our receiver tube. So this one's going to work really well for your two-wheel drive models.As far as our weight capacities go, both are going to have a 500 pound max tongue weight, which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube.

However, you never want to exceed the gross axle weight rating of the vehicle. You always want to go with the lowest number between the two. Each one of these is going to have a 9,000 pound straight line pull, which is straight on the hitch. Each one of these is going to have a 5,000 pound gross trailer weight, which is the trailer plus the load included.Now let's go over some of the similarities between these two. Both are going to give you a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening.

Reinforced collar gives you a little extra stability in your receiver tube. Both are going to have 5/8" hitch pin holes. Both are going to mount to existing holes in the frame. They're not going to require any welding or drilling and they're both going to come with all the necessary hardware to get them installed. Also, both of these are going to have a black powder coat finish that's really going to resist any rust or corrosion.
