Best 2019 GMC Acadia Trailer Wiring Options

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2019 GMC Acadia. Now, these are going to be our three options, your seven pole Tekonsha, your four pole Tekonsha, and your four pole CURT. Now all three of these wiring harnesses are going to be very easy to install. These two are going to be single plug. Your seven pole is going to be a double plug. Now all three are all going to plug in the same area.

It's going to be right here behind the driver's side bumper. So this Tekonsha seven pole, it's going to be mainly used for trailers that may have a few extra lights or maybe use for trailers with trailer brakes. As you can see, it has a nice wire cover loom on it to cover your wires, to keep the weather out. The adapter here is going to have a nice spring loaded cap. It's going to help keep the weather out of your connection point. Now these four poles, your Tekonsha and your Curt, you'll mainly use for smaller trailers that have very few lights, maybe a cargo carrier that may have some lights on or cargo box on the back of your vehicle that you may attach your license plate to that you may want to run some lights to.

The difference between the two, the Tekonsha is going to be a little bit longer. Gives you a little bit extra length in case maybe your trailer light wiring is a little bit short. It's also going to have a connected dust cap. That's going to help keep the weather off of your connections there.Your Curt here, it's going to be a little bit shorter, in case you don't want something long. You may not need the extra.

It's going to have a dust cap that just slides on, slides on over the top there. And it's also going to help keep your connections clean. Good thing about this one is the dust cap can be replaced. As far as ease of installation, the wiring harnesses are going to install exactly the same. They're going to plug directly into your factory wiring harness. There's going to be no cutting or splicing.

As far as wire length, we're going to be about the same. As far as amps, Tekonsha doesn't list those ratings. However, CURT does. CURT's going to have 7.5 amps per circuit on your stop and turn and 7.5 amps per circuit on your tail lights, and that'll do it for the best wiring options for your 2017 GMC Acadia.
