How to Install the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover on a 2016 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab, we're gonna be installing the Back Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part number BAK39327.This roll up tonneau cover provides strength and durability with full truck bed access. Customers like that they can access their truck bed in seconds without removing their tonneau cover. With it unrolled, it's gonna protect your cargo from the elements. When used with a locking tailgate, your cargo is completely secure. It's a flush mount design. It only sits about an 1/8th of an inch on top our truck bed rails.

And the rails only sit about two and a half inches inside your truck bed. When rolled up, it takes up about nine inches of your rear window, but you'll still have plenty of visibility. Here on the inside of the bed, it only takes up about ten inches, but there's still plenty of room to store items underneath of it. The rails won't cover your stake pockets, so you can use stake pockets accessories such as ladder racks. It's an easy no drill installation.

We'll go ahead and show you that now.Our first step is to install the bulkhead seal. Now it's a good idea to make sure that that bulkhead is lean of any dirt or debris before we put it in place. I've already gone ahead and cleaned mine, so, I'm gonna go ahead and install it. We wanna place it right before it begins to roll to the inside of the bed. So I'm just gonna pull back a little bit at time and work my way across.

Once I get to the other side, I will then just cut off the excess with a pair of scissors. Give it a good press and we're all set.Now we can move on to installing our side rails. We want to make sure we grab the correct side. I'm starting with the passenger side first. We want to make sure that the bracket is on the inside of the bed.

Let's go ahead and set it in place. And we want to make sure it's all the way slid forward to the bulkhead. Once we ensure that it's sitting in the correct spot, we can take our clamps, we need to make sure that it's opened up a little bit, that way we can slide it up underneath, and clamp the tonneau rail to the truck bed side rail. Now the teeth on the clamp need to line up with the grooves on the other side of the rail. Our fist clamp is going to be positioned as lose to the bulkhead asa we can. Once we've got it hand tightened, I'll grab my 9/16ths wrench or socket and tighten it the rest of the way down. For our second clamp, it installs the same way. We're gonna place it directly above the wheel well. I'm gonna apply a little bit of down pressure on top, just to make sure that the rail remains level and then we can it tighten down the rest of the way. For our last clamp, we're gonna place it as close to the tailgate end as we can. Now we can repeat the same process on the other side. With the rails installed, now we can grab an extra set of hands and set our tonneau cover assembly in place. Now we don't want to set it behind our bulkhead. We want to set it here, at the rear and we're gonna unroll it towards the bulkhead. Good. Now what we're looking for here, is to make sure that it lands inside of the rails. Now we're gonna take two mounting bolts and insert them on each end, within the channel. Now when finished our tonneau cover forward, our two bolts are gonna through our bracket. So, you want to make sure that those are lined up. We'll check the fit. Looks like it's gonna go through. Now I'm gonna roll it up halfway, making sure that I don't move it to the front or back. Now I can put on my hardware. What we want to do, is take a rubber washer, put that over the bolt and then a metal washer, and then finally, a locknut. We're gonna do that for all bolts and then we can tighten them down. Now let's unroll it and check our fit. It's important that the tonneau cover didn't move, that way it still lands in our brackets on each side. I'd say it fits great. We also want to be sure we have a tight seal between our cover and our tailgate. Perfect. Now let's roll it back up. There's just a few more steps we have to do before we're done. Now it's time to install our bumpers. These are gonna prevent our tonneau cover from coming in contact with our glass. SO we need to make sure that we find that spot where if it we're to be rolled up, that it would make contact. So we're gonna install them, about here. Now the kit comes with four, so we're gonna do two on each side of the tonneau cover. Our final step is to install our buckle clamps. This is what's gonna keep out tonneau cover rolled up against our cab when we're on the road. They install just behind our first clamp, as you can get it. And same as before, once we have it hand tightened, we can take our 9/16ths wrench and tighten it the rest of the way down. And we can repeat this same process on the other side. Now these just go around our tonneau cover and buckle in place. Now we can just unroll it one last time and we're all set. And that's gonna complete our installation of the Back Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part number BAK39327 on our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab.
