How to Install the CIPA Clamp on Universal Fit Towing Mirror on a 2018 Toyota Rav4

Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the CIPA Universal Bar Clamp-on Towing Mirror. It's available in a quantity of one with part number CM11980. You can also get it as a pair with part number CM11980-2.It offers us a wide field view. It's gonna allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Now on our RAV4, our 2018, we've got a small blind spot mirror. By upgrading to the towing mirror, we're gonna get a larger view. Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, you can see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up.

Right here is the view you get with just your factory mirror. Now the mirror itself can be adjusted 360 degrees, so if you like that horizontal view, you have that option. Now it can also be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side.By loosening up the knob on the back, we can adjust our mirror along the bar. The larger knob up top allows us to extend our mirror out to better suit our towing needs. Once we have it set, simply tighten it back up.It uses two clamps with rubber pads to hold it in place.

The nice thing about the rubber pads is they're not gonna harm or scratch the finish. With the way that it clamps on, it's not gonna interfere with the operational movement of our factory mirror. And we can even still fold it in.Here on the back side, you can see that it doesn't use any rubber straps or ratchet traps like most towing mirrors do. It doesn't cover up our turn signal. It's very easy to install, we'll go ahead and show you that now.So I'm here on the driver's side of my RAV4.

To make this fit, we need to make sure that our pads are opened up and we've got plenty of space between the pad and the bottom portion of the clamp. And we can do that by loosening up our knobs on top. Once we've ensured we've got enough space, we can line it up to the housing on our mirror and then slide it in place. As you can see, I'm just gonna center mine up here, and then we can tighten down our knobs. It's that simple. From here, you can just- adjust it out to wherever it suits you, and then you're ready to tow.And that's gonna complete our test fit on the CIPA Universal Bar Clamp-on Towing Mirror on our 2018 Toyota RAV4.
