How to Install the Cipa Clip On Towing Mirror on a 2018 Toyota Rav4

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the CIPA clip on towing mirror. It's available in a quantity of one, with Part number: 7070. You can also get it as a pair, with Part number: 7070-2. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Now, on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we do have a small blind spot mirror, but by upgrading to a towing mirror, it's going to give us a larger view.

If I take a few steps in, towards my trailer, you can see there's no blind spot. Right here is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal and side-to-side. It can also be adjusted 360 degrees, so if you like that horizontal position, you have that option. With the way that it clips on, it's not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold the whole thing in.Here on the back, it's held in place by two adjustable rubber straps.

The nice thing about them being rubber, is they're not going to harm or scratch the finish of our mirror. Here you can see, it doesn't cover up our turn signal.A few great things about this towing mirror are, pull on for temporary use, so we can take it off when we're done towing. Another great thing is, since it is universal, if you have any other trucks of SUVS in the household, it may work with those as well. It's a very easy installation. We'll go ahead and show you that now. I'm here on the driver's side of my RAV4.

To begin our test fit, we'll need to be sure that our clips here set on the inside of our housing. I'm just going to center it up with my mirror and rest it in place. Then I can hold it with one hand and then run my straps on the back side. Now when we run our straps, we want to be sure that there's tension in them already. That way, when we clip them in place, it holds the mirror in place. I'm just going to stretch it out and connect it to the top hook, right there.

Then I can adjust it as needed. I'll just repeat the same process with the second strap. Now, if you want to tighten it or loosen it, you can simply just pull it through the buckle, and then you're all set. Now we can adjust our mirror how we want, and we're ready to tow. It's that easy. That's going to complete our test fit on the CIPA clip on towing mirror, on our 2018 Toyota RAV 4.
