How to Install the CIPA Dual-View Clip-on Towing Mirror on a 2014 Infiniti QX60

Today on our 2014 Infinity QX60 we're going to be doing a test fit on the CIPA Dual View Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number 11953. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or a small camper. As you can see I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Between both mirrors, the larger and the smaller one you get the same view, just a closer more clearer view in the larger one. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up.

But this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. Both the larger and the smaller mirror can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. Each one of our tabs here is not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the backside it uses two rubber straps to hold it in place around the factory mirror. You can see they're nice and secure.

The mirror's not going anywhere. One other great thing about them being rubber is we don't have to worry about them harming or scratching the finish of the backside of our mirror. One of the best things about this towing mirror is that it's for temporary use. So if you do a lot of towing, or not a lot of towing it's easy to install and remove. Another great thing is that it's universal. So if you have any other trucks or SUVs in the family it may fit those as well.

Now, the mirror does come in a quantity of one, so if you'd like to pick one up for the passenger side just use the same part number. Now I'll show you how easy it is to get installed. To begin our test fit let's go ahead and turn our mirror over and turn our attention to these two knobs. By loosening them up it's going to allow us to extend our arms out so we can correctly fit it around our mirror. So with them loosed up we also want to be sure that the tabs here with the lip on it clips onto the inside of the housing. I'm going to go ahead and turn it back over and get it set up. I'm just going to center it up with my mirror here.

That actually looks pretty good. Now we can come around to the backside and tighten up our knobs. Let's go ahead and tighten those up. Now we can run our straps. Now it's a good idea to have a little bit of tension on the strap already, that way when you clip it in place it holds the mirror in place. Just going to stretch it up and over, and then we can repeat the same process with our second strap. Now if we want to tighten it or loosen it we can just guide the strap up through and pull it down through the other side. Just clip it on top and we're all set. We're ready to tow. That's going to complete our test fit on the CIPA Dial View Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number 11953 on our 2014 Infinity QX60.
