How to Install the CIPA Clamp On Universal Fit Towing Mirror on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Today, on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be doing a test fit on the CIPA universal bar clamp on towing mirror, part number CM11980. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park or even back up while towing a trailer or a campter. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Now, if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. This is the view you get with just your factory mirror.

The mirror itself can be rotated 360 degrees. If you'd like to keep it at that horizontal position for a different view, you have that option. Now, it can also be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and then side to side. The large node up top here, by loosening it up, it's going to allow us to adjust that bar out to further suit our towing needs. When we've got it set, just tighten it back up.

By loosening up the knob here, we can adjust our mirror along the bar. The two padded clamps on top are not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror. We can even still fold it in. Here on the back side, it doesn't use any straps to hold it in place on the housing, so we don't have to worry about scratching or harming the finish on our vehicle. A few great things about this towing mirror are ...

is that one, it's for temporary use, so you can take it off when you're not towing. Another great thing is, it's universal, so if you have any other trucks, SUV's, or Jeep's in the family, it may fit those as well. Now, the mirror does come in a quantity of one, so if you'd like to pick one up for the passenger side, just use the same part number. Now I'll show you how easy it is to get installed. I'm here on the driver side of my Jeep Wrangler. To being our test fit, let's go ahead and turn our mirror over.

We need to make sure that our clamps here are all the way loosened up, that way we can easily fit it onto our housing. You can do that by loosening up these knobs here. Once we've ensure we've got enough room, we're just going to slip it in place. I'm just going to center it up with my mirror here, make sure it's all the way on, and then I'm just going to tighten them down. It's that easy. Now we're ready to tow. That's going to complete our test fit of the CIPA universal bar clamp on towing mirror, part number CM11980 on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
