Intsallation of the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2014 Toyota Sequoia

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Toyota Sequoia, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the CIPA Custom Slip-On Towing Mirrors. As a set, the part number is CM11300. For just the driver's side, the part number is 11301, and for the passenger side only, part number is 11302.Now to give you an idea of the field of view advantage that you can expect from your custom towing mirrors, we're standing about where the end of a 12 to 14 foot trailer would be behind the Sequoia. As I start to come over to the side, you see the factory mirror's doing a fine job, but here's where that's going to start to end.Our custom towing mirror's going to allow us to slide on over, and you can imagine if you had a trailer back here, or something else. You're trying to pass, change lanes, park. It's going to make your job a lot easier. Now here's what our mirrors are going to look like installed.

As you can see, they're going to follow the same contour as our factory mirror, and keep all those aerodynamics the same. That's going to help reduce any wind noise or vibration that we might have. The custom design is going to wrap all the way around the outside edge of the mirror, which is going to give us a nice, secure fit, as you can see on the vehicle. It really doesn't move around a lot.The mirror face itself is fully adjustable, so you can adjust that up, down, of course left and right. It works on a ball socket hidden behind there, so it's going to give us a full range of adjustability.

You'll notice our factory mirror, it's also going to retain its full adjustability. If you happen to have a blinker or something like that in the mirror, none of that is going to be blocked. That's another nice benefit. You'll notice that we're still going to retain that breakaway ability, so if you we're to pull in the garage, you didn't want to remove those, you could simply fold them in.Now, the material itself is a durable ABS plastic housing, so it's going to stand up to abuse, rock chips and stuff really not going to show up too much on this, if they come up. You'll notice the finishes are pretty similar. It's black on black to give you that streamlined look. When a custom towing mirror is available for your application, it's a really good idea to go that route.

The custom design is specific for this mirror, so it's going to do a very good job of holding on, and being nice and snug, unlike the universal styles, which can sometimes take a little bit work to get them on there perfectly and secure. Before installing your mirror, you want to get it nice and clean. That way, you're not going to have any debris between the mirror and our factor mirror, which can cause little scratches on our paint. Now, the mirror cleaned off, we're going to take our spacer block. You'll see we've already put the felt strip on there. This, basically, is just going to slide in this track, and that helps to get that good fit on the mirror. You'll see the small circle on the back side.

Once we have this in place properly, it's going to be lined up with that hole, and that set screw is going to come through. Put a little bit of pressure there, and keep everything nice and snug. We'll start with our spacer just kind of staged in position there, and bring our mirror over. It's a good idea to move that up and down with some inward force, just to make sure we get it seated on there all the way. We'll want to see our lip around the outside edge of our mirror, just like that.Make sure our block's pushed all the way in, and it's between those two tabs that stick out, and we'll thread in our set screw. Now the great thing about this is there's no tools required at all to put these on, or to take them off, so it makes it very easy. You'll screw that in. You'll feel a little bit of pressure, and at that point, we'll be nice and secure. That'll complete our look at the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side, part number CM11300, on our 2014 Toyota Sequoia.
