How to Install the CIPA Clamp On Universal Fit Towing Mirror on a 2017 Nissan Titan

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Nissan Titan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror, part number CM11980.Now, we're here at the back of the trailer, and you could see we have plenty of visibility in our factory mirror, but if I step outside, you lose that visibility in your factory mirror but gain it in your towing mirror. Now, this is going to help you when passing and parking. This mirror is going to give you full adjustability, sideways, can rotate it up or down. You can also adjust it in any one of those positions. This mirror also allows you to extend it out. By simply turning this, pulling on the arm, you can extend it out even wider. These are going to mount on your factory housing but are not going to interfere with the movement of your factory mirror.

It even allows you to fully fold it in for parking in tight spaces. It's going to be held in place with a threaded thumb screw. The bottom is going to have a rubber foot. It's going to help prevent any scratching on the factory finish. One thing I like about this mirror as opposed to some of the other universal towing mirrors, it seems to fit a little bit better. If you notice this rubber foot here that sits on the top of the mirror housing, it moves around, so it's going to fit different shapes.

If your mirror has a little bit of a curve to it, it'll fit on there. This fits very snugly on the mirror housing. These are going to be sold in a quantity of one. If you'd like to pick one up for the other side, just use the same part number. Now, let me show you how to get this installed.Very simply, you're going to take this thumb screw and you're going to loosen it.

Spread the pad out from the bottom. You're going to slide it. Pads are going to go on top of the mirror. This bottom plate here is going to go underneath the mirror housing like this. Then, you simply tighten it down.

Once you have a nice snug fit, simply adjust your mirror how you want it. You're ready to hit the road. That'll do it for a look at and installation on the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror, part number CM11980, on our 2017 Nissan Titan.
