How to Install the CIPA Clip-On Universal Fit Towing Mirrors on a 2011 Toyota Sienna

How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2011 Toyota Sienna, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CIPA universal fit towing mirror, which is also sold as a set. Our towing mirror is really going to expand our field of view, and that's going to be especially useful when we're making those lane changes, backing up into a tight parking spot, or even just wanting to keep a better eye on what's going on behind us. As you can see, I'm visible in our towing mirror, but not in our factory mirror. That's going to give you an idea of just how much more you're going to be able to see, but if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of the towing mirror, and become visible in our factory mirror, and that's going to help eliminate any of those blind spots. Now, one of the things that I noticed in comparison to some of the other towing mirrors is the clarity of our lens. The picture is going to be very sharp, and not foggy like some of the other ones.

Now, one of the main questions our customers ask us in regards to towing mirrors is if they're going to get any vibration or noise at high speeds. Well, to be honest with you, the way this one fits on our Toyota, the factory mirror here is really nice and tight. I really don't see you having any issues with that, at least not enough to bother you. Now the straps that hold our mirror into place are going to be made from a soft rubber material, so not only are they going to grip really nice, we're not going to have to worry about them scratching up the paint either. Now we're still going to be able to adjust our factory mirror. However, it does make a little bit of interference at the end of the sweeps, so it's not really going to affect the sweet spots that we would normally use, and if we get into a tight situation and need to make more room, we're still able to completely fold our mirrors in without any contact.

The towing mirror lens itself is going to be completely adjustable, up, down, side to side, diagonal, or you can even loosen the knob and rotate it 360 degrees to accommodate all of your towing needs.Since this is a universal fit mirror, chances are pretty good if you have another vehicle in the household, it'll also work with that, and it's not really a hassle to change it over, because of how easy it is to take on and off. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and do that together now. To begin our installation, we're going to first loosen up this knob to give us some more adjustability. Then we can take our tow mirror and hold it flat against our factory mirror, and then we'll move around to the front. While we're holding it in place, we can loop our straps up and hook them around the clips.

Now at that point, we can come back over here to our knob, and snug it back down. Now, if you have another mirror, you just repeat that same process on the other side. And that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the CIPA universal fit towing mirror on our 2011 Toyota Sienna.
