How to Install a CIPA Clamp On Universal Fit Towing Mirror on a 2019 Toyota Highlander

Hi there, Highlander owners. Today in our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at CIPA's Dual-View universal towing mirror. As you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror. But as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I'm clearly visible in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, as well as when changing lanes. This dual view mirror has a flat mirror, which gives you a more accurate representation of what's behind you.

As well as a convex mirror, which offers a wider range of view. You'll want to keep in mind though that convex mirrors, objects may be closer than they appear. Each of our mirrors is going to be adjustable both vertically and horizontally. And when it's installed, our factory mirror still maintains its full adjustment. The breakaway function of the mirror will still allow it to turn it in without contacting anything on the vehicle. Our mirror's held in place using the two rubberized straps located on the back.

What's nice about them being rubber is that it sticks to the mirror so it won't slip off, and it won't cause any scratches or abrasions because it's a softer material. You can see here that our turn signal light is still going to be visible on our side mirror as well. If you've got the full 360 degree camera system on your Highlander, you'll want to make sure that you avoid the camera on your mirror when installing your straps. This towing mirror is available as a quantity of one, or you can purchase it as a kit with a quantity of two so you'll have one for each side. We'll begin our installation by loosening the knobs here at the back. This allows you to adjust the width to fit your mirror.

We're going to start with them all the way in. And then we'll line the hooks up with the outer edges of our factory mirror. We can then bring the straps around the back side and hook them on top. If you need to, you can adjust the length of your strap to give it more or less tension as required for it to hold your mirror up. You can then tighten these back down.

And if you purchase two, you'll repeat the exact same process on the other side. And that completes our look at CIPA's Dual-View universal towing mirror on our 2019 Toyota Highlander.
