How to Install the CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror on a 2011 Toyota Sienna

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2011 Toyota Sienna, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a CIPA Universal-Fit Towing Mirror, which is also sold as a set. Our towing mirror is going to greatly enhance our field of view. And that's going to be particularly useful whenever we're making those lane changes, backing up into a tight parking spot, or just wanting to keep a better eye on what's going on behind us.Now as you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not in the factory mirror. And that's going to give you an idea of how much more you're going to be able to see. But if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of the towing mirror and become visible in our factory mirror.

And that's going to help eliminate all those blind spots as well. And one of the things that I like about this mirror, compared to some of the others, is that it's going to be nice and compact. And that's also going to help with one of these main questions we get from many customers in regards to towing mirrors. And the question they ask is if they're going to rattle or vibrate at high speeds. With universal towing mirrors, some vibration and rattle can be expected. However, this is a very nice tight fit here on our Sienna.

So that's something I would say you're not really going to have to worry about. At least it won't do it enough to bother you.The straps that hold our mirror into place are going to be made from a soft rubber, which not only grips our factory mirror nicely, but we're also not going to have to worry about them scratching the finish. Now with the tongue mirror in place, we are going to have quite a bit of adjustability with our factory mirror. However, we will lose a little bit, but it's not enough to really affect those sweet spots. And if we find ourself in a tight position and we need to make extra room, we're not going to have any issues folding our mirror in, not have to worry about it making contact. This lens is also completely adjustable. You can go side to side, up and down, diagonally, or even spin the mirror 360 degrees, and that's going to accommodate all of your towing needs.

Since this is a universal mirror, chances are pretty good if we have another vehicle in the household, it will work for that too. And it's not a hassle to do because it is so easy to take on and off. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and do that together now.To get our mirror installed, all we're going to have to do is push it flat against our factory mirror and find that spot that's nice and flat that gives our towing mirror the best fit. And we can hold it in place, and then come around to the front of our factory mirror. At that point, we can just grab our straps, stretch them around our factory mirror, and clip on to the tabs.

And if you have another mirror, you just repeat that same process over on the other side. And that'll finish up our look at and our installation, the CIPA Universal-Fit Towing Mirror on our 2011 Toyota Sienna.
