How to Install the SuperSprings Coil SumoSprings Helper Springs on a 2013 Jeep Patriot

Hey, guys, today I'm going to show you how to install the coil Sumo Springs from Super Springs, Part No. CSS-1125. I have my 2013 Jeep Patriot here, and I have the spring. I did have to make a small cut to chop off the spring. This is the piece that I cut off, about 3, 3-1/2 inches. The manufacturer says that they don't want any overlap more than an inch, so they'd prefer about 1/2 inch to an inch of overlap, basically just meaning that the springs don't overlap more than like this. There is a top and bottom to this spring.

You can see this H, these deeper grooves right here. This is the bottom and then this is the top. Super easy to install, so I'll go ahead and show you how to do that right now. Again, just make sure these deeper grooves are facing the bottom. When you jack your car up, you want to make sure that you're relieving all the stress on your coil springs. The reason why is because you want these coils expanded as far as you can so that you can get the width of this spring in place.

I was having some trouble with it before, so anyway we'll try it again. Basically just pinch in the top and bottom lip. The trickiest part is just getting it started. All right, I got it started now, and then you just push. If you can see this fold right here, as long as you have those folds in place, when you push it, everything for the most part should just slide right on.

Now I've got everything popped in in place. Okay, guys, if you can see this is the back part or basically the end of the coil. One of the most difficult parts is just making sure you get the overlap right. You can see this is the outside of the top coil, and it should be over top this flat side of the bottom coil. Although it's one piece, just the way that the springs are, you'll have a coil basically in the line and on top of a coil, so just make sure that that piece is on the outside. Now there's a couple of holes. You can see there's a hole here for my finger and then another hole here.

This is what the included zip ties are for. Basically, what you're going to do is just loop the zip tie through it. When you're putting the zip tie in, sometimes it wants to go up inside that tube. Now we'll just repeat the same process on the other side, and that'll do it for the coil Sumo Springs Helper Springs for coil spring suspension, Part No. CSS-1125, on our 2013 Jeep Patriot.
