How to Install a Curt Easy Mount Trailer Wiring Bracket on a 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Today, on our 2005 Hyundai Tucson, we're going to do an install on part number C58000. This is the Curt Easy Mount Bracket for 4 or 5 way flat connectors and 6 or 7 way trailer connectors. Now, we'll start off our test fit by placing the bracket and put it on the end of the hitch itself. Then, the hardware will go behind the collar of the hitch. Now, we'll go ahead and install the lock nuts. Then, we'll snug them down.

As we snug this down, you can see how our bracket will actually bend and conform to the contour of the hitch. Next, we'll go ahead and install the hardware that can be used to hold our 4 pole connector. Now, we're just going to take the plate and put it on the side of the bracket, and just loosely install our hardware. Alright, with our bracket loosely installed for 4 pole or 5 pole, we'll go ahead and take our test 4 pole and go ahead and put it into the side of it. We'll situate it the way we want it, and then we'll go ahead and slowly tighten down the hardware, until it gets a good grip on the 4 pole harness. You can see how this will work for a 4 pole or a 5 pole harness. Alright, next, we'll go ahead and try out a couple of 7 pole connectors.

We'll take our first 7 pole connector, and we'll go ahead and put it into place. Now, our bracket does come with some nice stainless steel hardware to install this. Now, we're going to try our 7 pole, with a thicker base on it. Now, the holes do line up, however, the stock hardware that comes with it, does not work with this thick base on a 7 pole harness. So, you'll probably have to use some additional hardware for that. OK, let's go ahead and try out a 6 pole on this.

Now, we're using a conventional 6 pole. We'll go ahead and put it into place. Here you see, there's two extra holes for your 6 pole to go into. The hardware that comes with the bracket will work with the 6 pole. OK, we'll go ahead and refit our bracket with a 7 pole connector.

We install a draw bar into the hitch. We can go ahead and put it in like normal and install a pin. The bracket has a cutout, right next to the hitch, so that you access to install the clip for your pin, and also room to install your safety chain. Alright, with that, that will finish it for our test fit of part number C58500, from Curt. .
