How to Install the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter on a 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Today in our 2019 Ford F350 Super Duty you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ford OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package, part number DM6175.This is what our above-bed rail kit's going to look like when it's installed. What this is going to be used for is to convert our under-bed rail kit or under-bed OEM prep package into an above-bed rail kit. This kit's going to accommodate most 5th wheel hitches that require above-bed rail kits. This rail kit's going to have a 25,000 pound max tow rating. I do recommend checking the owner's manual of your vehicle to make sure the truck can withstand that amount of weight. You always want to go with the lowest number between the vehicle and the rail kit. Each rail is going to have four slots.

You're going to have an inner slot and an outer slot to accommodate different size hitches. Our handles help lock our rail system down to our OEM preparation package. We're going to have a pin with a clip on it, or a pin with a pull ring on it. It's going to lock our handles into place so we don't have accidental disconnect between our rail and our under-bed kit. It's going to have a nice durable black powder coated finish that's going to resist any rust or corrosion, and can be easily removed when not used to give you total bed access. The first thing we need to do to start our installation is we need to remove the four puck covers on the outside.

Use a flathead screwdriver. I'm using a trim panel tool. We're just going to pry up the center. I'm going to go ahead and remove this plastic ring also. The next thing we need to do, we're going to pull the pin, slide our handles outward and set our system into place. We'll line it up with our pucks.

Now we'll fold our handles in. You'll notice they're angled different. Make sure you put the one towards the back of the truck in first. Fold it in like that, and then replace your pin. That's going to lock your handles in place. Now, one thing I do want to point out, if your handle is not moving or if it's locked open and won't close, you can simply take a 9/16 socket, loosen these forward bolts just enough to where this will drop down into place.

Slowly start to tighten them up until you can move your handle. If, once you tighten them up, they will not move or your handle will get stuck open, what you're going to have to do is, there's two washers right underneath this handle. On the back side of this, there's a nut. You take the nut off and you pull the handle off. You'll take one of the washers off and then reinstall everything else. That'll do it for our look at an installation on a Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ford OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package, part number DM6175 on our 2019 Ford F350 Super Duty.

Do you sell a plate that goes on top of that

I'm not quite sure what kind of plate you're looking for, but we don't have anything that attaches to this adapter other than compatible 5th wheel hitches. Can you tell me a bit more about what you're needing?
