Review of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Mounted Service Step

Hie everyone. Adam, with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite hitch mounted step for two inch hitch receivers. So this step is going to be ideal. If you have a ladder rack or just to make it a little bit easier to get into the bed of your truck, something I've noticed, it is kind of difficult on your arms, your back and your legs to get into the bed of your truck. But with this step, it's going to make it a little bit easier on you.

You could just step right on up, and get in, and just make it a little bit easier on your joints. So this is going to be ideal for your taller SUV's. It's going to be really, really nice to be able to just step on it and load and unload your roof rack or cargo carrier, even if we have our spare tire here.So our step here is going to measure about 11 inches wide by six inches long. And from the edge of our hitch receiver here, it is going to stick out about nine inches. One thing I do like about the size of this step is that as you can see, I can get the meat of my foot on the step.

If I was to use my bumper here, as you can see I can only get about a third of it on there, and I'll probably end up scratching, whatever type of license plate I have. In this instance we have a pretty nice license plate we want to keep that looking good just as the day we bought it. Also, literally just stepping on our bumper here, you can already see it's already making a little bit of scratches. This is plastic. So we want to keep that looking as good as we can.On top of that it is super smooth.

We don't have any gritty texture on our bumper, so it's probably not going to be ideal in those wet conditions. If you have big work boots on, this is definitely going to give you optimal grip and plenty of room to get in and out of your tailgate. And this step is made with a sturdy steel construction with a nice powder coated finish. So it's going to look good over time and definitely wear away a lot slower than our plastic bumper. So the first thing we need to do when we get our step out of the box is to install our gritty adhesive part to the top, just so we don't slip. I do want to let you guys know definitely clean it real good.

Use a micro-fiber towel, make sure it's clean. Once you do that, you can go ahead and peel this back and line it up the best you can. This is basically sandpaper, so it's definitely going to give you that optimal grip. So then you just got to put it into your hitch. It will be compatible with only a two inch hitch receiver. So be sure to check what size you have and then you got to put your pin and clip and pick one up at etrailer.com. So whether you're using this for your truck and SUV or even an RV, it's definitely going to give you a very secure place to step on. And again, this was the Draw tight step and I'm Adam from etrailer.com.
